Instapure F5 Complete Tap Water Filtration System (Chrome with Chrome Cap)

I have excess calcium in my city water. Although I was assured that it is safe to drink, it tastes awful. It also leaves white film that turns crusty on my fixtures and appliances. I tried using the Britta pitcher but I could still taste the chemicals that are used to clean the water. The Instapure leaves no residue or aftertaste. It works great. My only problem is that the filtered water comes out in a thin stream but the regular tap pours out quickly and thicker. I don't know if it's the plumbing or the Instapure that is doing this. I am a patient woman, however, and I don't mind waiting for a couple of minutes to fill my coffee pot in the morning.

I checked my water TDS reading before setting up this filter and checked it after my water was run through the filter and the TDS level was same(393) or higher, water filter did not work at all. I was very disappointed that it did not lower my TDS or make the water taste better. TDS should be 15 or lower.The FILTER is not sealed in a bag, there is only a removable cap which would not stop anyone from using the filter before I received it. I'm only giving this 3 stars because the product was easy to setup. I did RETURN for a refund.

It works very good. It leaked a little at first. Saves a ton of money over bottled.

Been using this filter system for 30 years...each unit will last several years. Does a fantastic job of purifying the tap water, removing bad tastes. I use it for all drinking water, cooking water. Best value on the market, filters last me about 4 months.

I have been using InstaPure faucet mounted water filters for over 40 years. The mechanism breaks down and I buy a new one. The last one I had lasted about 10 years. I am very satisfied with the quality of filtered water it produces.

I needed this in my life. Easy to install, looks good and an immediate difference to the appearance and taste of water. Now if only I could order the 4-pack of filters to be sent to South Africa.

So, this is the second one we’ve bought. The first many years ago. It began to leak internally between the water and the filter output. No way to open it up without breaking it open, I think. Not mad about that because it was probably 10 years old.The new connection parts are plastic. I tried to use the new supplied parts during installation but it was impossible to mount without it leaking. I used teflon tape and it leaked. I think pipe dope might help. Here’s the thing, while tightening the plastic it snapped. I had to revert to a very old metal piece from the first time we hooked it up to get it to work. It still leaks a little and I might add some pipe dope but don’t really want that gook near drinking water. The main connector is still plastic so I might try to tighten it up but I am afraid it would break or perhaps add more teflon tape.

this time around I tried this brand instead of the Pur that I generally use.there are a couple issues that I have with this system. 1- it doesn't have a quick disconnect for the faucet, it has a very complicated set up. 2- It doesn't have any light indicator to let you know when the filter is out of use and no longer can do its job. Other than that it seems to work well.
