You can not cook with them on. You only place them on after you are finished cooking as these do get hot from the casserole.

Got these as a gift for my daughter and they were so much nicer and substantial than I expected. I need them now.

If you use your Le Creuset cookware then you know how hot the handles can get. Sure, you can use an oven mitt or potholder, but for a little bit of extra cash you can get a these simple silicone grippers that take up no room in a drawer and are perfectly sized for your cookware. They provide a nice grip, great heat resistance, and couldn't be easier to use. I purchased a set sold and fulfilled by Amazon and they are 100% genuine.
