Lonely Planet Fast Talk Icelandic (Phrasebook)

A handy little book and perfect for slipping into a pocket, but the phonetic pronunciation guide is awful, I doubt if I could make myself understood. It will be useful for shopping and eating out, but it's best as an adjunct to a proper tutor book with CDs to listen to.

Very neat little book with handy phrases and pronunciation. I dropped a star for some errors that I spotted, but on the whole it's a handy little thing for beginners or first time visitors to encourage them to give this beautiful (if tricky!) language a try, and at a bargain price.

It’s a very small, compact book but gives a visitor just enough information and phrases to get by and show the locals you’re making an effort.

I went to Iceland with this book in my pocket. Only a few staff spoke English and this book wasn't much help. Good job the products are written in English. They ran out of lasagne, which was a shame.
