The Underrated Band Maid Album
Band Maid's first album has mixed reviews against the universally awesome reviews for everything that followed. I left it until last thinking that with the tracks being written for them the other opinions must be right. What a surprise, it's another great album, in fact it might just be my favourite. Yes the instrumental work is not as layered or complex as future work but that makes the songs more vocal focused. Some of the songs are a sign of the future direction but honestly I only didn't really like Evergreen at first but now, as with every other Band Maid track I listen straight through with complete enjoyment. A brilliant first album !

Band-Maid hit the airwaves running with a fun first effort.
After the somewhat overproduced "World Domination" I was somewhat apprehensive about this reworked version of the girls first release. I'm pleased to report that all the sharpness of play and enthusiasm you want and expect are present and correct. As a first issue the girls haven't quite decided what they are going to be but the tunes are still plenty heavy and punky enough for fans of later releases.Band-Maid completists need this CD and anybody with just a passing interest will enjoy it, it's just good.

Good first album.
Not as good as their later stuff, but well worth a listen.

Solid debut
This, the very first band maid album is a good solid debut. It's quite varied and may not appeal to those fans who prefer the later, rockier, faster numbers of later albums but there are still tracks that definitely rock. The musicianship is all there. What appeals to me regarding the first three albums is the variety and widely ranging tempos they show, I equally like all the album's from this to conqueror as I have always favoured listening to ones I can listen from the first track to the last, I am less inclined to play albums that I find myself "butterflying" that is, picking certain ones to play and ignoring others and this album is not a "butterfly" one like all of the band maid a!bums so far this is a start to finish play and if you are a band maid fan who likes the wide variety of their music it's well worth adding to your collection
