My previous Shark worked well, but this one is on a completely different level.Forward or reverse, it keeps pulling the dirt out. Like a shark in the sea, this is a real predator on the carpet—it doesn’t just skim the surface, it goes after what’s still buried deep. The PowerDetect and reverse cleaning are the standout features. I thought my carpet was already clean, but after using this, the amount it pulled out of just one room was genuinely surprising. Cleaning in both directions isn’t a gimmick—it saves time and delivers a deeper result. It also almost drives itself like a lawnmower. The brush roll helps pull it along, so it feels much easier to use than you’d expect for something this powerful. The end result is a proper deep, “finished” clean—you can see it and feel it straight away. It is slightly heavier and corded, but that’s the trade-off for the performance you’re getting. One last point—on a previous Shark I owned, I had an issue, and their customer support sorted it quickly with no fuss. That gave me confidence to stick with the brand. If you want a vacuum that genuinely deep cleans, this is it.

I vacuum pretty much daily as I have a chocolate lab who is a total dirt magnet and sheds hair all year. I have been using the Shark cordless Stratos for the past three years and it’s pretty good, but not as good as this. This has incredible suction, I feel like I have had a work out after using this as it drags me across the carpet. Very easy to move about, canister comes off to make cleaning stairs very straightforward. Cord length works well in my house, I plug it in in the hall and can do pretty much the whole of the ground floor. In all an excellent purchase and highly recommend to pet households. I didn’t think I’d revert back to corded model but the clean it gives outweighs the restrictions.

This is my second Shark product after purchasing a carpet cleaner of theirs i thought eh il treat myself to a Shark hoover and settled fr this one, After much debate im only giving this 4 stars though and il explain why.. Advantages Its an amazing hoover, easy to carry and use on the stairs, easy to clean, lightweight, easy to empty, hoover attatchments are brilliant the scent for the hoover disc is great (although I either became nose blind or it didnt last as long as I thought it should) Different modes- hard floor, carpet or detect (detect does have a pull on it and WILL pull you forward chasing the bits of fluff, hair or w/e it detects) Disadvantages 1-Works better on some carpets than others (if you have a carpet with the ridges where hairs get stuck in them it doesn't work as good and picks up about 50% of them and struggles to pick up the hairs stuck in the carpet) 2-it didnt last, this is my second hoover after purchasing the first one in July 2025 as I needed a more pet friendly one that could be split so it was easy to use on the stairs. Come 2 weeks before Christmas and my hoover stops working, it makes the noise but has no suction power, bear in mind this is not something I expect from a pretty well known brand whos products are raved about, I expect them to last longer than 5 months, bright side after speaking with shark then amazon customer service, they ordered it to be picked up 2 days later and a replacement dropped off the same day so I didnt have to go too long without a hoover dealing with 2 dogs and a toddler, for that reason im giving it 4 stars instead of 3 for how quick they dealth with the issue, my only hope is this replacement lasts longer than 5 months Other than that it is a great hoover, powerful enough to do its job, the longevity is questionable however but that aside, its worth it

I’ve been really impressed with the Shark PowerDetect Corded Vacuum Cleaner. The suction power is excellent and it does a great job of picking up dust, dirt, and pet hair from around the home. It feels like a well-built, powerful vacuum and has made cleaning much quicker and easier. The only downside is that it is a little on the heavy side, especially when carrying it up and down stairs or using it for longer periods. However, the performance, cleaning ability, and overall quality make up for the extra weight. Overall, I’m very happy with this vacuum and would recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful, reliable cleaner.

We were so impressed with this hoover once it first arrived. The suction and functionality is great. However, we started having problems with the hose randomly coming off when hoovering (which is also the handle) and the hoover flying across the room, despite clicking in as it should. We then had a problem where the hoover went beyond verticals and wouldn’t stand upright. It has gone back to Amazon to repair, despite Shark giving us an uplift number to send out a new hoover. We will see what happens but we won’t be purchasing a Shark again.

What a hoover!!! Bought this in the prime deals as our old Shark hoover wasn't doing well anymore. What made me go for this one was the fact it sucks dirt up forwards and backwards. I was under the assumption all hoovers do this but apparently not after researching. It came in one box, and you need to take everything out to see what you have before assembling. Instructions are very straightforward. Assembled well and did it by myself in a matter of minutes. Lots of information with the box about the different power modes and cleaning instructions. The handle has the on/off switch and also digital buttons for different modes (low pile, hard floor, auto detect etc) The auto detect is brilliant. If there is a purple light this means that there is still dirt under the hoover and you need to hoover slowly over it to suck it up until the light turns white. The amount of dirt this sucks up is incredible!! On a floor I thought was clean, it brings up more dust from in between the fibres. When the light changes from purple to white and vice versa you can hear and feel the power change. It is quite heavy, but with the power it comes with, I am not surprised! It is also very loud. When you first turn it on, it is almost as of it hoovers by itself. The vibrations set it going and you need to hold on. It is also very easy to dispose of the dirt in the canister. Press of a button and you carry it away to the bin and then another button to open the flap to dispose. Haven't yet needed to clean the filter so cannot comment on this part. Using the small attachments are also very good. Some brilliant tools for cleaning window blinds etc. Beware of the super suction though and perhaps put it onto a lower mode for this. Tip: when you start the hoover, you need to make the body of it click back from the roller part (like most hoovers), DO NOT let the roller part flop down. It is heavy and I reckon with constant flopping down it will damage it eventually. Instead click the body back from the bottom.

This vacuum cleaner is incredible! It has transformed our carpets far beyond what seemed possible, including a room that we'd started pricing up to get new carpet. We have 3 dogs and our previous vacuum cleaner claimed to be specially designed to lift pet hair from the carpet. The Shark has proved that claim to be absolute rubbish! It's expensive (although I bought it with a large Prime Days discount) but it's far cheaper than new carpets and the whole house feels and smells fresher. Despite the incredible suction it's also much quieter than our old vacuum. It comes with a bag for the accessories which keeps them together and you can store 2 on the vacuum itself for quick access. The built in air freshener was something I assumed was a gimmick that I would not replace when it ran out, however it's actually a lovely extra feature that I will keep topped up. It's a little on the heavy side, especially when it's sucking itself to the carpet so strongly, but that is a tiny downside compared to just how effective it is. The biggest issue is how old it makes me feel! I shouldn't be this happy with a vacuum cleaner and it's a clear sign that middle age is here! If you are still clinging to your youth then this might not be the right vacuum cleaner to buy.

I bought this to replace my 5 year old Shark vacuum and after a month of ownership I thought I'd write a review. Pros: So powerful, it could literally propel a young child across the room. Cons: Once it's detached from main part it takes me about ten attempts to get it back on, maybe it's just me. It's a heavy Vac. Materials feel cheaper than my previous Shark, despite it costing double.
