can the mic be muted so i can use an external mic?

The unit does not have an external mic input. Solution would be to use the audio input on your nvr if it has one. Otherwise find a unit with external mic inputs.

Are there any pole mount adapters that will fit this device?

Hi, this camera only supports wall mounting.

Does this zoom in while tracking or does it just follow?

Yes, it does zoom while tracking. But there are times, it will zoom to the ground or to nothingness when it looses what’s it’s tracking.
