Why did you pick this product vs others?: The Ujitawara Special I have ordered for a few years is unavailable so I tried this matcha. I have had a daily matcha practice since 2018 and prefer Uji terroir. This matcha is acceptable. It is mild flavored, subtle umami. It's not at all grassy, a plus. I whisk it as tea. (Frankly if I were going to make a latte or sweet drink I would consider it a waste to get ceremonial grade.) For the price point it's good value. I am giving it a 4 on its flavor but for the price it's hard to do better imo.

I love this matcha. I can tell from the color and texture of the powder as well as the aroma and taste of the tea that it is truly of a superior grade than the some of the "ceremonial grade" matcha that I have tried. It is smooth, mellow, rich earthly and grassy. It also has a mild sweetness and a very mild hint of astringency to it. This matcha is best appreciated in tea since it is of such a superior quality. You can also use it in matcha latte but you might not be able to detect the subtle details that make it so good. This comes in a sealed foil bag inside an elegant black metal container with gold trim. It is a small bag but you get about 20 servings out of it (one teaspoon of matcha is about 2g). Overall, this matcha is of superior quality. It is flavorful and fresh. Mine has a printed label under the metal container with an expiration date on it of about 10 months from now. Plenty of time to enjoy this superb matcha. If you want to check out what a true ceremonial grade matcha tastes like, this is for you.

This wonderful matcha meets expectations! Rich flavor and noticeable caffeine effect. Vibrant green and loose consistent texture but still rich and not too dry. Excellent alternative to other high quality match brands. Been subscribed for almost a year now. Excellent as a traditional hot match or mixed in with smoothies and lattes.

Bought this for my boyfriend who’s a matcha lover! He was obsessed. He said it tastes very high quality, and is nice and sweet without even adding sugar.
