Miniature Needlepoint Carpets

This book has beautiful designs for a dollhouse or other venue that will showcase these beautiful creations. However, the best thing about the book is the plethora of specific directions on HOW TO do all the stitches required to create the fabulous designs. I bought this as a gift. The recipient is thrilled to have it. Since I don’t have the book any longer, I can’t post any photos, sadly. But if you’re into miniature needlework, you'll love this book!

I've stitched several needlepoint kits from Janet Granger so I was familiar with her work before ordering this book. That is why I was delighted to find this book and order it. I like the variety of her designs and clear directions. Although I have not yet had time to stitch anything from this collection, there are several I know I will use in miniature projects in the future and maybe a few others as well. The book is a good addition to my collection of miniature how-to books.

Wonderful little book with well organized color patterns, clear directions and many useful tips!

I like this book a lot. There r so many beautiful designs. The only problem is there is no lines on the pics. It makes work harder. I have to drow the line myself. But anyway. I like it

This little book is easy to use and the designs are accurate and lovely! Ms. Granger sells some of the designs as kits at her website and they're expensive!

It has some really wonderful miniature carpets for dollhouse or I just display them in a basket. Lots of fun to work on!

Janet Granger's book is excellent for beginners as it lists materials used to work her designs and explains basic techniques (including stitching, finishing and blocking). The 25 carpet designs are rated simple, experience needed and for experiencd stitchers. Each design has a sharp color photograph and easy to follow color chart (no symbols). Measurements are imperial and metric and there is a metric conversion table. Colors are Appleton's shade numbers with a description of each shade. Designs include: medallion, circular, paisley, rose, Berlin, Italian, Regency, Chinese, Bokhara, Persian and Aubusson rugs.

本のサイズがA5なので、普通の図案系洋書のなかではコンパクトです。ミニチュアラグがカラー写真とカラー図案で紹介されています。図案はちょっと地味目です。表紙のような華やかでごちゃごちゃした、いかにもな絨毯の図案がお好みの方にはちょっと物足りないかもしれません。(※表紙の作品の図案はちゃんと掲載されています)サイズは色々あり、楕円形や虎の敷物の図案も載っていますので、いろんなミニチュアラグが作りたい方に。

I have made a number of the designs, including the one on the cover. Although it took a long time it was not too difficult, and I changed some of the colours, and also the size of the canvas. Although the writer does not give a list of things you need, including quantities of thread, I think the assumption is that the reader is an experienced stitcher, who can estimate these, and also make changes in colours and sizes. None of the designs needs more than one skein of any one colour.

Book as advertised, happy with it

Nice little book with traditional pattern styles. Nothing too modern and nothing too difficult. If you like working on a small scale this is a nice purchase.
