Admittedly, I have had this for only a short time, but I am impressed by this. I have tall coconut trees and have tried various poles including the "Notch 18’ Pole Saw Set with 15” Blade - Yellow (40207)". The tradeoff between weight, height, flexibility and strength of the poles is always there. The Notch is a shorter pole, sturdy but correspondingly much heavier. Using additional poles to get it to 24 feet requires considerable strength and balance to cut coconuts down from a tall tree. I have built my own larger poles by using high quality pool poles which are very light and flexible, but unfortunately, bend or break. This pruner comes in a convenient carry case which makes storage much easier. The Notch has 6 foot segments. The segments on this one is about 4 feet each. The trade off in being able to adjust the length to within 4 feet of what you desire, is that you have to spend more time assembling it if you want the full 30 feet. When I do screw in the different segments, there seem to be some metal shavings. I'm not sure if this is from the manufacturing process or if the grooves are being slowly damaged by the weight of the pole. The blades are sharp and cut through fronds or stalks holding coconuts, with comparative ease. Although it is lighter than the Notch, it is heavy and can be a challenge to handle at its full 30 feet. Lighter poles will be more fragile and appreciate the balance this pole offers. That being said, make sure you have an open area to bring the pole down. Once it starts coming down, it will be very difficult to stop, so have a clear area to let it drop as you do your best to slow the descent. Time will tell how long the groves used to join the poles hold.

This is a great tool for those high branches. You will need to have strong arms to hold this pruner and have good balance with your arms because it will shift on you. My arms got tired after cutting 2 branches 25 feet high within 5 minutes. Take a rest and go back later to prune some more branches from the tree. It is worth the money to cut the branches down. The professionals will charge big bucks to cut the branches.

This 27-foot tree pole pruner has impressed me more than I could have imagined! It definitely has weight to it, but that's the tradeoff for pole strength. The cutting ability of the blade (two come with it) is awesome. I had two Bradford Pear Trees drop two massive branches on my home recently, typical for Bradford Pears I found out the hard way, and so I have had to not only cut up the fallen limbs but needed to trim the rest of the trees until I can get them removed. In the process, my chainsaw went down and needed repairs, so I was left with just my pole saw. I am still amazed and impressed with how well this saw works! Absolutely worth the cost. No doubt its heavy and difficult to handle when it's extended but it cut through thick limbs and branches better than any manual saw I ever used. I have pushed this saw to its maximum potential and I am beyond impressed. I would highly recommend this pole saw! At this point, I have no negative comments about this tool. Be sure to attach the extension poles from one end, never in the middle of your extension and be careful to align the threads carefully so not to miss thread and you will be fine with how well this works.
