Human Sexual Inadequacy

an important book
This book is a companion study to The Human Sexual Response . Published in 1970, it drew on years of research into the field of sexual 'inadequacies' within humans, e.g. impotency. While the first study had outlined the typical responses involved in sexual activity, this book shifted focus - exploring the atypical.Written by Masters and Johnson, who by 1970's were acknowledged experts in human sexuality, this book aimed to offer 'solutions' to sexual problems. Of course, what counts as a "problem" is open to interpretation ... and, in this context, aspects of the book are now rather dated. Yet as a guide to studying sex, and addressing possible problems, this book presents valuable information on ideas and methods. It draws on therapy sessions involving 100's of participants - and the data remains relevant. It's not always easy to read - not because it's especially complex, but because of its rather dry tone. Nonetheless, for anyone interested in this area of study, I highly recommend it.
