I found it easy to use but a little thin. Multiple coats to get an actual black line. It didn't run for hours though so that's a plus.

Any makeup sharpener will work.

Q: Can this pencil be sharpened or is the tip all of the product you receive?

It can be sharpened. Makes sure you have a new sharpener. Old dull sharpeners tend to eat the pencil right up.
