Works great...inexpensive. I'm a happy customer.
We broke our pool thermometer and since it's fall now we won't be swimming as much but I wanted to replace our thermometer. So I bought Intex® Floating Pool Thermometer for the price you can't really go wrong. I put it in the pool it floats no problem and I did not have a hard time reading the thermometer. I'm not having an issues I've seen other reviewers mention. I mean it isn't a digital thermometer so you have to read it like an 'old school thermometer' but that doesn't bother me. I don't have bad eyesight so it was easy to read. My kids are able to read it too. I like to have a basic idea of the temperature in our pool and hot tub. It may not be exact (I have not checked for accuracy, but it seems about right), but I'm ok with that. We rarely heat our pool anyways so I just wanted an idea of the temperature. Less than $5 and I have a new floating pool thermometer. I just tied some rope to it and attached it to a weigh outside the pool so our skimmer and vacuum doesn't move it around too much. We'll mostly be using it in the hot tub for the next few months since summer is over. I guess we'll see how long this works and I can update my review later.

Still Going Strong
I really really wanted the electronic, remote sensors. We tried one here on Amazon (hard to find these) and as all the reviewers stated, it lasted less than a year and even when it worked, it could be intermittent and high maintenance. I guess demand is just not high enough for that type of product. So it's back to old school - floating/bobber. And this one is perfect and accurate - we cross check it with our heating unit and they are in perfect sync which is nice. We've had this type before but hated how they would end up in the strainer. This one however mostly hangs out in the pool, usually near but not under the water fall. Only once have we fished it out of the strainer. If it ever becomes a problem it has a loop to tie/anchor it somewhere.

Not the right size
Was smaller than what I wanted

rendering it totally worthless and waste of money
Had to give it one star, because there is no way to give a zero. This thermometer is supposed to float vertical in the pool, but floats horizontal on top, rendering it totally worthless and waste of money. No matter how I tried to hold it underwater to get all of the air out to make it float vertically, it kept floating horizontally and getting sucked into the skimmer. It's a piece of junk and a wast of $10.00.

Handles being in a sunny pool all day, and still works.
Good performance. light but feels solid.

Acceptable performance for the price
It works well, but I cannot seem to get it to stand upright despite holding it under water for quite a while. I have been trying to use it in a spa that has a waterfall which overflows into the pool. Since I cannot get it to do stand upright as it should and it therefore floats on top of the water, it keeps falling over the waterfall into the pool. It is a minor inconvenience, but worth noting if you have a similar set up.

The temperatures markings are clear and easy to read
Works just as expected. I thought it came with a rope, but I checked the product listing again and it does not include the rope. I have it in the shade in the water intake skimmer area (it's shielded from the sun) so it gets a more accurate water temperature reading, versus it being in the sun where the water surface temperature will be a little higher. Plus it's protected from the sun so the plastic won't degrade or fog over. The temperatures markings are clear and easy to read.
