hygger Aquarium Light Clip Holder (for HG-978) (1), Aquarium Fish Tank Light Riser/Holder/Bracket/Stand/Mount

I have a lot of Hygger products. I have 4 tanks and of my LED lighting is Hygger. You just cannot beat the price. This will fit 14W, 18W, and 24W Hygger led lights. May fit more but I have those lights and I know it will fit them. This worked for one of my nano tanks which is a 5 gal backpack nano tank. The only reason it fit is because of the backpack on the tank. Otherwise, the light would have hung over the front of the tank and not the center. I tried to mock this up on my 6 gal nano that is rectangular and with the light installed, the light hung hung halfway over the front of the tank. I still gave it 5 stars cuz I'm assuming it's not designed for those types of tank and/or larger tanks. I gave it 5 stars cuz like I said, it fit my first tank pefectly. I also looks cool - minimal and the functionaly makes sense. It's easy to put together. The mounting screws can be tight but I think that's a good thing so they don't come loose.

The light stand works as intended. I gave 3 stars because the base is a little flimsy on my rimmed tank. I looked back and did not see any mention of these only being intended for rimless tanks.

Awesome buy. Fits perfectly at the back of my aquarium and can extend higher or lower as needed. It holds the light I already high. Looks very expensive.

I got 2 of these. I have rimmed tanks. One is even a corner tank. Simply unscrew the support screws all the way then screw back in once in place. No problems at all. They worked perfectly for my needs. They make my tanks brighter now that the lights aren't sitting right on top of the cover.

Screw mounts on the aquarium frame is too high to properly set the screws in beneath the frames to hold the light properly. The two brackets could not support my 36 inch 978 model due to the poor mount screws. It sagged and fell immediately. Support screws should have cut lower to set below the plastic rim frame. This is the worst holder. I went with a floor reptile lamp holder, and held the lights with thin steel wires. Much sturdier support and cleaner look for my 36 inch 978 light.

Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. This allows me to get the Hygger light virtually off the top the 47 gallon aquarium and the acrylic covers. This positioning did not allow me to lift those covers off for maintenance easily at all. Several things of note, however: 1. Both of the short screws used in the assembly on both units were VERY difficult to screw in and adjust. Even after using WD 40 on them it was a real struggle to get them onto the units. 2. For me, the extension of the light out over the top of the aquarium was not what I was hoping for. It's ok, but would've appreciated a greater reach toward the front of the tank be able to adjust where the light source fell best for my plants. We'll see how it works out. 3. The build is very solid which is appreciated!!

It works. Be mindful of the size of your light, but in my case it didn’t hurt because I flipped it. You can see in the video what I am talking about. Other than that I am happy with what I got!

Super happy with these extenders and I’ll be buying more for my other tanks. It looks really clean rather than the light sitting directly on top of the tank. All at a great price too.
