Descent™ G2, Watch-Style Dive Computer, 46mm, Black

I have had this diving computer for close to a year and use it daily.It works well, once you take the time to learn how to use it. It has many functions so it pays to read the mnual first!I have logged 20 dives so far, and I love the output.However, I also use it on a permanent basis to keep track of my health and life habits. It also keeps track of my sleep but that feature is not highly reliable. Now, as far as I understand, keeping reliable track of sleep requires a different product, hence I am not penalizing the review for that shortcomming.I also tested its panic function, by mistake, and it sent the messages immediately.I am quite happy with my diving computer!

I bought this Garmin to upgrade from my Omer Mystral which I have been using for the past 2 years for spearfishing and freediving.I actually started spearfishing and wanted to improve my depth and apnea time with Freediving and I’m now more in love with Freediving and became a PADI Master Freediver.In Freediving, as I have passed the 40 meter (130ft) depth, I realized I needed to start looking at my metrics more closely aiming now at reaching 60 meters (197ft). This watch allows me to analyze my pace going up and down, my heart rate to understand relaxation, and many more things, not to to mention the alarms and so on that allow me to have a sense of where I’m in terms of depth when I’m going down to the plate, as well as the many static and dynamic training modes that are great as well to improve in the sport.This does not fall short when using it for Spearfishing, knowing your surface time and having alarms to let you know when you are ready, is key, but also being able to look at my heart rate to understand when it is calm and ready, is key! Also, the very visible amoled screen was very easy to read underwater where light and colors ar much more different that in the surface.On the other side, I’ve never owned a smartwatch and I have also gotten obsessed at understanding several health stats, sleep, stress, etc. Also the training and the dive readiness metrics, are awesome as they allow you to understand how your rest influences your performance, and also not become frustrated are your performance when you are aware that it has been influenced by other factors as bad rest or sleep.I love this watch, it is compact compared to the MK3, and delivers pretty much the same. I do not need more than this, it is amazing.The only thing I would improve is battery time, that compared to other Garmin models is not the longest, more so if you are running pulse Ox full time as I am. This said, I mean this in a sense of comparison to other models that last more days, such as the MK3. Not a big deal though, it last 10 days in normal operation and about 7 days running Pulse Ox fulltime, which for me is more than fine.Highly recommend this watch, compact, light and powerful Dive computer.

I believe this is a 10/10 watch if you are looking for a dive computer that can also be everyday watch. The dive computer included everything I need as a recreational diver.Other than the dive settings, there are a plethora of activities you can pick as a workout from indoor running to figure skating.Not to mention, the battery life lasts forever, it takes mine about 5-6 days to fully die, but it charges very fast also (maybe an hour or two). Tracking sleep, diver’s readiness, surface intervals, etc..

So far its been perfect for my active lifestyle. Running, lifting weights and freediving. Sleeping with the watch is comfortable. I don't agree with others when it comes to the screen size. The screen is fine and equal size to my Samsung smart watch. I can ready everything just fine. Battery is great

Absolutely terrific watch. Small enough profile to wear to sleep, but terrific with the data that it provides - couldn't be happier.

I recently switched to the Garmin Descent G2 after my Samsung Galaxy broke, and I am so glad I decided to try a different brand. The color on this model (Paloma with the Shell Pink band) is absolutely beautiful and looks even better in person than in the photos. Since I’ve started wearing it, I’ve been blown away by the amount of options there are to play with. I primarily use it to track my sleep, daily fitness, sports and the data it provides is much more detailed than what I was getting before. The AMOLED display is bright and very easy to read in different lighting. The companion app is also a huge plus. it’s very intuitive and easy to navigate. I especially love that there are tons of free watch faces available to download, so I can change up the look whenever I want. One thing to note for others that since I have very SMALL wrists, and this watch is a bit on the larger side. However, the features and the overall look are so good that I’ve easily overcome the size difference. It’s worth it! I got a great deal on this and can’t wait to finally take it scuba diving to test out the dive modes. Overall, it's a solid 5-star purchase.

I love this watch. I have always had issues with the old watch batteries and so I got automatics. I was undecided about which dive computer to get but I saw this had all the features I was looking for and easy to recharge. From free diving to hookah diving for work I keep track of everything and best of all has an emergency 🚨 contact mode incase your in trouble it will send out a help message to a list of people. Super customizable and tons of cheap options for bands and free apps. Also use data for sleep and motorcycle riding and speed. I also ride motocross. I love the interface and menus are customizable with red mode and green mode for nighttime and automatic sleep mode silent so it won’t wake you up when someone messages you.

Muy chico!!!La interfaz de usuario esta malisimamente diseñada, necitas horas de investigacion para entnder las funcionalidades basicas y te tenes que instalar varias apps en el telefono (enserio gente???). Por todos los medios posibles intentan forzarte a que compres funcionalidades (obviamente que no necesitas)...cada vez te hacen sentir mas que sos una maquina expendedora sin importar que.La verdad, estoy terriblemente decepcionado, obviamente no volveré a invertir en Garmin, ya que no me dan absolutamente nada que otras marcas de menor precio no den...literalmente hablando!!!

I bought them on sale. They are wonderful watches. They have everything needed for scuba diving and freediving, apnea, plus a compass. Lots of functions all in one. Satisfied 100 %

Genau was man von Garmin erwartet, die perfekte Uhr für Hobbysportler die auch hin und wieder tauchen gehen!

Supero todas mis expectativas, venia de galaxy y me cambie porque cambie el telefono, mide perfecto mis inmersiones de buceo automaticamente, en sesiones de pesas, mis rutas de ciclismo, sueño , cuando este deje de funcionar ire por el modelo mas alto ... no se como vivi tantos años sin esto jajajajaja

Excellent little device! Great for diving as well as a daily lifestyle watch. At the time of writing I have about 10 dives logged. I really like the statistics it shows me with every activity. I use this daily to track my exercise and sleep quality prior to diving.
