6-1/2' x 4' Variable Action Drag Chain Harrow - Overall Length: 90" - 3/8" Dia

We purchased this to run behind our 4- wheeler for grooming about 3 acres of land for planting pasture grass it has good weight and the drag chains with spikes dig up small weeds. Flip it over to smooth and cover the grass seed. Works much better than expected for our soil conditions, which I had tilled with our compact tractor. This drag covers the tire tracks from our Yamaha 4- wheeler. I installed a combination hook and 3 ball hitch in the receiver of the Yamaha. This was a really good value and like I say above, it has good heft. We'll also use it to de-thatch our lawn and the pasture in the spring.

I was worried that this was going to pull hard, like a plow. I barely feel it is behind me. I was able to cover a large amount of ground in about an hour. I am looking forward to doing more with it. This was a great purchase. Glad I went with the wider model. I was worried my quad wouldn't be able to pull it well, or would get stuck. I have pretty steep hills, and it did great!

It did the job in the cattle field. My husband was happy he brought this. He has told other friends about it. It does not pull up the grass in the field.

My first concern was that my 20HP Troy Bronco lawn tractor would have a tough time dragging this across my bermuda grass lawn [no grade greater than 3%]. That's not a problem. Traction is the problem. What I was trying to do was distribute 16 yds of topsoil over ~ 4,000 sq ft lawn to fill in the potholes. I'd fill by utility cart with 2 cu ft of soil, move to a low spot and dump it[think of fire ants on steroids]. My second concern was that I'd only be using it in the least aggressive mode, i.e. smoothing. Nope. I found that the "aggressive mode" didn't tear up the lawn/yard; in fact, I added three solid 4x8x16 concrete blocks just behind the lead bar to get best results. But that extra weight and wet conditions frequently got the rear wheels spinning. I definitely need to wait until the yard dries out in the Spring before trying to complete the job. If I had to do it again, I'd get the 1/2" diam wire for the added weight; sizewise, I think the 6.5' wide x 4' long is fine.

Works well on pasture to level hoof prints and manure piles. Reasonably priced.
