Good value
Good value, reads codes and deletes them, gives spot on indication on the errors showing on dashboard.

Nice little diagnostic tool
This is a handy little tool to steer you in the right direction when you have a problem. IT IS NOT A CATCH ALL, for that you need a much, much more expensive scanning tool, but for pointing you and being a little more informed it is great. Knowledge is key when taking your car to the garage folks. It does clear codes etc, and is a handy piece of kit to have in your arsenal. A point of note, updating the thing is not clear. I struggled initially, then I went to eninfox431.com, found the device (you have to search for it) and the uploader software will download. Install it, it detected my serial number automatically and bobs your aunties husband, it was done. Windows declared the site unsafe (Chinese) but get past that and it all falls into place. Need I mention to virus scan downloads? Hope this helps people who are having problems updating.

Purchased ad tested!
Ok So I purchased this item to test to see if it is any good at error reading and other parts of the product. So this is what I feel is appropriate and a honest review.Packaging - it is very basic and cheap looking its not bright coloured and if it was on a shell in a store you would miss it.Product feel - very light which is not a bad thing but its plastic mould casing feels very cheap and toy like. If it was encased and had rubber grips on the sides this would probably make it feel better in your hand. Its feels too light so it gives the impression there is nothing much on the inside it odes not really ooze quality.Features - I would say for basic its not bad but it states it reads vehicles from 1998 - I checked for errors on my BMW 2005 E46 which has a faulty crank sensor the device did not detect it? It connects well to the OBD but i had to really wrestle with it to unplug it! Screen first impressions looks big but its small when the device turns on which is a little disappointed.Overall - Cheap quality feel, did not read my cars errors well and most of the other options it did not support. The update software is difficult to find online but once found I updated it simply enough. The price I feel is too much for what the product looks like and feels quality wise and usage. My £10 OBD2 device has a better feel to it. Packaging is dull looking and the device looks the same the screen is not bad but I feel if I was to drop the device it could break easy? Probably be good for basic error codes on some cars but did not read any on mine? Price needs to come down I feel as there probably be others who feel a little let down once they get theirs. Easy to use if the features worked and you did not get a message stating "Option not supported"If your looking for a quick diag tester for your car I suppose it could do what it needs to but for more in depth diags will need to get a much more better tester.

Grab a bargain
Used on a d4d 2.2. it does read the basic data live stream so very helpful at the price point is a must have.

CR3001 - Easy to use and a reassuring piece of kit
After paying out over £1000 for repairs on our Renault Scenic I was less than happy when we had problems starting her soon after getting her back from the garage! Rather than take the car back for another expensive investigation straight away I thought it was worth having a look myself and remembered a roadside mechanic using a scanner to identify an engine problem before. The CR3001 was on offer and seemed worth a try at the price. The scanner arrived and I was very pleased with the build quality and size of the display screen. Once I’d located the on board data port (under the coffee holder tray) it was straightforward to plug in the scanner cable and wait a few seconds for the machine to boot up. The CR3001 offers a simple main menu, easily navigated via the clearly labelled control buttons. In the photographs I’ve selected the Diagnose option and then the Data Stream display. This allows real time monitoring of various engine performance parameters. You’ll see that there are a variety of other options available.Thankfully there were no Error Codes being generated by the engine management system this time around, but had there been then the scanner itself provides translation of the numerical code into a description of the issue. In future I’m confident that like the roadside mechanic previously I’ll be able to alert the garage to the issue that needs addressing, rather than going in blind and having to rely entirely on their prognosis of the problem. As a novice in scanning I was much encouraged by the ease of use of the CR3001 and impressed with the range of options and sub menus that are offered. The large control buttons are easy to use and navigation of the options is assisted by the colour screen. The length of the scanner cable is sufficient to enable clear sight of the screen whilst sitting comfortably in the driving seat.I’m pleased to report that after fully charging the battery and dealing with some water ingress after heavy rain the starting problems have disappeared. I’m still glad I purchased the CR3001 scanner though and pleased that I didn’t discover any other problem to deal with!

Faulty product
I bought this product but didn't use it straight away. When I came to use it, there was a fault. It was outside the Amazon return window.Sometimes the screen is clear and you can use it but other times it's the Matrix with corrupted text.Tried to email and phone Launch regarding the display fault to see if they could help, but they never answered their customer service phone or replied to email. Therefore, I will not use Launch products again as seems not to be supported in my opinion.
