Works perfectly
Having spent my working life in manufacturing industry, I'm a bit of a process control geek when it comes to controlling things at home. This little thermostat-and-electric socket combo is brilliant for controlling an electric heater in a room. It's easy to set up, and once it's up and running it works perfectly. You set your target temperature (say 20C), your electric heater brings the room temperature up to 20C, then the thermostat switches the heater off. When the room temperature has dropped to 19C, the thermostat switches the heater on again. The best thing about it is that it's remote, so you're controlling the temperature of the room and not, as is often the case with electric heaters, controlling the temperature of the heater. You get a constant readout of the room temperature, with a precision of a tenth of a degree, and you can even see the overshoot and undershoot (usually 0.1C). Switching the heater on and off is fairly quiet, which is important if you're controlling the temperature of your bedroom overnight. Changing the target temperature is dead easy, so you might like to sleep with a target temperature of 17C, but bump it up to 20C when you want to get up. My criticisms are only very minor: getting the batteries in and out is fiddly, and the construction of the thermostat is rather flimsy, so it probably wouldn't survive being dropped onto a stone floor. Other than that - perfect.

Safe and effective bathroom radiator control.
How to control a bathroom radiator converted to electric heating? Well, this works for me. The thermostat on the radiator itself is good for taking it to a pleasant temperature when the power is on, but it is not able to control the room temperature. However, with this . . . . . . • Put the sensor on the bathroom wall away from the radiator. • Put the adapter in a power socket safely outside the bathroom, cabled through the wall. . . . . da da! Just one extra thing to consider . . . . My first response to reading the manual was disappointment - it may well display the current temperature to the nearest tenth of a degree, but the on/off control only functions one degree either side of the target. To stop my bathroom from falling below 19°C I have to set the target at 20°C so it will start sending power to the heater at 19° but then it does not switch off until 21° - appreciably hotter than I want. BUT . . . . . . . if I go fahrenheit, that 2°C variation is reduced to 2°F or just 1.11°C - almost twice as accurate, and just what I wanted! So, 65°F does the trick. A really good point is that it retained its settings while it was not in use and the batteries were out over the summer.

Amazing and so easy. Turn on heaters upstairs even if your downstairs.
Update- still a great product but had to take a star off as the remote canes the batteries and they need replacing about every 8 to 10 days sadly. Apart from this still very pleased. Just wish you could turn the remote completely off when not needed. Fantastic. Ordered at 10am and arrived 5pm same day. I ordered an extra plug adapter as I have 2 heaters. Pairing was so easy. Placed batteries in remote control unit. I then plugged in the heaters to the plug adapters and both flashed red for about 10 seconds and that was it, both paired up to the remote. Easy. I then set the temp on the remote to 22d as it was 20d showing as current temp. As soon as it 22d both heaters switched off and then after a while when temp dropped to 21d it turned them both back on. I love the fact I can sit on the sofa downstairs and turn on both oil filled heaters upstairs without even moving lol..

My advice is, don't bother :o(
At first, this item seemed spot-on. I tested it with a desk lamp and it worked perfectly, but when I connected a 2kW heater in my potting shed, it made a fizzing, crackling sound - this was obviously caused by internal arcing which is unsafe - arcing can cause fire. I've returned the item, but I'm tempted to reorder as it seems a perfect solution to frost-proofing. UPDATE - I bought another and all seemed well over the winter. I've just tried to fire it up for this Autumn/Winter and the same fault has occurred with the relay. My advice is, don't bother...

Brilliant product, well worth the investment, easy set up but keep some spare batteries
I have read most of the reviews and must fall on the definitely positive side of the product. Despite some comments I found no problems setting it up, it works as hoped ie the desired temperature in a specific area away from heater. Brilliant. Very easy to set and use well worth the money. Downside. I find that the remote control thermostat eats batteries at an extra ordinary rate. Unit stops working after 10 - 14 days this is disappointing as once set up all it does is sit there lights off digital display on. Possibly “talking” constantly to receiver. That aside if you use rechargeable it is no hassle to keep on top of that minor user issue. Overall great product.

Works really well but lacks functionality.
I'm really happy with the product. It is very accurate and robust but, it really lacks time control programmes. The device will turn on when temperature drops 1 degree below target temperature and it will turn off when temperature is 1 degree above the set target. That is in heating mode, in cooling mode it will work in similar fashion. The receiver is robust and works well without any issues. Good product if you want just a basic thermostat. I wish this device would have timer function.

Sophisticated Temperature Control with 1 Month Payback
The problem with most electric heaters is that any "thermostat" is just output control. Because of this most heating will see-saw between overheating the room to being too cold when the user turns it off. This wastes a lot of money & means that the room is mostly too hot or too cold. This brilliant inexpensive device connected to a £22 2000w electric heater keeps my studio between 19-20 degrees C by turning the fire off when it hits 20 degrees back on at 19. The fire is off a lot of the time saving money. It probably pays for itself in less than a month. It comes with a nice remote control to set the temperature exactly how you like it.
