Truly Wonderful Book
What a wonderful book highlighting the achievements of these great Black women! The art is beautiful and the text is simple enough for my two year old (though is also appropriate for older children). I am honored to show this to my daughter. We are white and thus have been admittedly uneducated about the contributions of Black Americans throughout our history (thank you white-washed education system), especially Black women. I hope to raise my daughter to appreciate all the women who have come before her to do great things! I hope this book helps gives young Black girls the ability to know their inmense worth. I can't say enough good things about it and I plan to buy more by Ms. Harrison. Thank you!

But it!
I absolutely love this book that celebrates black women in history! I think this is a perfect book to help show our little one (and future ones) diverse leaders throughout history and their various roles. It’s a sturdy board book and very toddler friendly in more ways than one. The pages are simple yet intriguing to our almost 2 years old - she loves to point out the airplanes, piano, microphone, stars, etc. - and doesn’t get bored or overwhelmed by too much information. I love that we normalize black women as leaders and show our kids historic figures who may look different than they are. It’s one of our daughters favorite books!

My baby’s favorite book so far
This book contains inspiring women. I read this to my daughter everyday. So far, this is her favorite book. The only thing I noticed is, the women in the book were all from the black race. I have nothing against it. However, it would’ve been better if the writer included other women too. There are a lot of inspiring women from other races too, not just one. Otherwise, it’s still a good book for me to inspire my little one.
