Poorly Written but all the Information is there and Presented Decently.
First for those who say this book is an AD for Amazon... This is a Amazon certification. Every bit of material I have come across is written like this. It is expected! Amazon wants to toot their own horn. Second, the author of this book is named Joyjeet Banerjee. I don't know about you but that appears to be someone who originally is from India. The name is BOLDED on the front cover. Did you miss that when you order it? Granted, the book is very redundant presenting information in many chapters and there are many typos but for someone who's first language might not be English, the book actually written better than a lot of others I've read who also struggle with language barriers. You can understand it just fine, you just need to be able to overlook the occasional faults. If you do, this book is an all-in-one guide to get the cert. If you can't, probably should find a different book. Good luck, there aren't too many good ones out there.

Useful reference, at times poorly written
I thought some of the labs and sample questions are quite useful. The handbook provides good reference material on specific topics, and the introductory sections to each chapter give a good birds eye view of AWS core services.A couple of things started bugging me the deeper I got into the book:1. The author sometimes repeats himself unnecessarily2. Doesn't always explain difficult concepts very well (chapter 3, VPC was pretty hard to follow)3. Heavy use of technical jargon where plain English would be refreshing4. Often guilty of wordy explanations, long sentences and longer paragraphs. There are also too many filler phrases like "you will notice", "please note", "it is important that you note", etc.5. Not always very effective use of diagramsI don't want to come across too harsh though. Clearly, the author is very knowledgable and I'm sure this book meets many people's needs based on the number of 5 star ratings. Perhaps this book is just not well suited to all learning styles. I found a very useful course on Udemy (acloudguru) that covers the same course content, but I found, easier to understand and more effective as a learning aid.

Beware when opening Exam CD case!
Firstly, I would like to say how awesome this book is as a resource and should be paired with A Cloud Gurus AWS Solutions Architect Associate course if you want to pass the exam the first time. Unfortunately, as you can see in the picture the CD was super glued to book and it broke as I was trying to take it out. Now I cannot use the Practice questions which was a big factor in me choosing this book as a study resource. I will follow up on this review if they can send me a new exam file in physical or digital format.

Pretty good book; however...
This is a very comprehensive guide, well researched and well written. I used this as supplemental information to my other exam preparation activities. My gripe with this book is that the editing missed a lot of typos and grammatical errors. While the information portrayed in the book is solid, sometimes it is difficult reading sections due to the wrong words being used, grammar which is poor, and general other issues that should have been resolved during the book's editing period.Someone from the publisher should review this book again and fix the problems so that future purchasers have a professional quality guide that reflects the price.

It's fine, but is also an AD for AWS
I tend to prefer McGraw-Hill books when I choose to do certification training. This book is fine from a technical point of view. My one issue is the style. It reads like a sales brochure and comes off as very biased up-selling of AWS. I would have preferred if it was more neutral in its tone. You can tell me about features of a product without the constant bombardment of adjectives! You could probably edit this book down 1/3 with just that removed. Otherwise, another boy scout certs badge for me.

Highly recommended read
The book was very detailed and helped a lot in preparing for the Solutions Architect Associate examination. While the book is definitely helpful as a study guide for the Architect Associate Certification, it also helps you learn the basics of cloud computing as well as gives a good understanding of the core services of AWS. Highly recommended if you are looking to learn about AWS and get certified!

BEWARE OF LABS AND “FREE TIER” LIMITATIONS!
Im 1/3 of my way through this and it works well as a guide. The labs utilize AWS “free tier” which isnt “free”.Make sure you turn off/delete anything you create in the labs immediately following completion or you could be stuck with a huge bill before you know it!I made it a point to log into the billing console to check to make sure i wasnt being charged daily and came across a small fee for 33 hours of NAT Gatway that was running.

Fantastic Resource to help me pass CSAA Exam
This book is well written. It has really helped me to grasp the concepts that I will need to pass the AWS CSAA Exam the first time. The author does a great job of breaking down the chapters into theory and concept backed up by mini exams to reinforce what you are learning. The book comes with a code to gain access to an online test portal where you can take full tests. This online offering is worth the price of the book alone. The book comes with a CD...but who has a CD reader... The last CD reader I had on a laptop was 2014.

Good book but don't rely on this book alone if you want to Pass.
This book is great as a supplement to studying for the exam. It takes you on a gentle ride into the topics as they get harder. Do not rely on this book alone, I took some online training as well, and this book PLUS the online course is what got me my certification. The practice exam with the book give you great explanations as to why you got questions wrong. But in the end the questions are too simple. I was pulling 100% on the practice exams. Then I went to acloud.guru and took their exam - 47% first try. I got better after that (obviously) but I am just saying don't let their practice exam give you a false confidence. There is MORE to learn once you are done the book!I also found spelling, grammar and other errors - like "see figure 1" when really it is figure 2 you should be looking at. These errors were minor, and did not impede my ability to use the book as a learning aid.

Author knows AWS better than they know writing
I haven't sat the exam yet so I can't pass a final judgement, but I'm not a big fan of this book. I think the author knows his stuff and the book is technically laid out well, but the writing style is not great and it's full of little errors and typos - some of which can be significant if you're not alert. I think English is not the author's first language and it shows. He's also prone to vague statements and examples, and to repeating himself unnecessarily. I suspect this book would be enough to pass the exam if you're proactive about the labs and a bit of additional reading of the AWS docs, hence 3 stars instead of a lower score, but the overall style of the writing makes me a little less confident than I'd like to be.

Excellent book, preparing for the exam

Incorrect answers
Extremely not recommended. There are obviously errors in the question answer, for example chapter 3 , question 5.

OK as an overview
Book is definitely for some one who has good experience with AWS and wants a memory jog or explanation on the topics covered by the exam. If you expect to train with this book look elsewhere. Has a practice exam (online and on CD, plus pdf of the book) Quizzes are given after each chapter. And few practical examples. I was hoping it would be as good as the old Sybex book but its not (a new book is in the works). Also The paper is very thin with poor contrast in diagrams that use small fonts.
