Great product, easy to use, locks for custom duration when you don't trust yourself

I'm happy with this purchase, and while it's missing some features that I'd like and would assume are in more expensive lock boxes, this one does enough for me to give it 5 stars. The fortress mode is exactly what I need. Once that's on, you can't unlock it without an emergency code that you get from customer service, which effectively means I'm never getting an emergency code because I can't be bothered to reach out to customer service. Working as intended, if you ask me! You set the timer for the lock box to release using days/hours/minutes, so it's not like it comes with a clock and you choose the time you want it to go off at like an alarm. You have to know how many hours or days or minutes in advance you need to set it ahead for. If you're good with knowing that off the dome, then you're golden, otherwise there are calculators online which can tell you how many hours away a specific time is for tomorrow, etc. Anyway, works like charm and keeps me from making bad choices since I've locked them away!

Our 15 year old spends a lot of time on his iPhone, so much so that we've had to put some rules in place where it can not be used when at home. When the rule couldn't be followed voluntarily, I turned to the well reviewed Mindsight's Timed Lock Box. The box itself is well designed and manufactured, fits together well and is easy to understand and operate. For the behavior change we are working towards, it's had a good deterrent effect - I've only had to lock up the iPhone one time to get pretty consistent voluntary surrender of the phone at home. Overall a good addition to our ongoing efforts to manage the challenges of raising kids in the current digital age.
