Reliable!
This pump works amazing! I have had one that I was able to use with tow of my children and have only had to replace it due to it falling from a high area, Highly recommend this pump! I tried the hands free cozy mom pumps and both quit working all of a sudden and decided to switch back to this pump! Not only is it reliable but it's easy to clean the flange and other parts! It also can be used with batteries so if you need to pump on the go you absolutely can! Very happy with this pump. I should have just stuck with it instead of trying the hands free cozy mom!

Just what we needed.
It’s exactly the same as the one you buy in the store, just fewer items in the box. You get exactly what you need without spending over $200.

Powerful pump
This pump is pretty good. I had a medela pump with my first child, but was introduced to this brand when I was being treated for mastitis. The suction is powerful and it’s relatively quiet compared to my old medela pump. Since the bout of mastitis, I exclusively pump. I decided to get an Ameda pump for my second child and I’m happy with it.I read some of the reviews about it not emptying breasts but I think it does a good job (I’ve been exclusively pumping for two years). Whether you pump or breastfeed, you have to massage/press down on the hard parts of the breasts to assist in pushing the milk out and emptying the breasts. Also, if you dont want to hold the flanges while you pump, a hands free bra is needed. I found one here on amazon for $12.Another thing I like is that the medela bottles fit with the flanges so I didnt have to buy new bottles to catch the milk.

Better than the hospital grade Madela Pump!
My insurance rented me out a Medela hospital grade pump (the one that is almost $2,000 to own) for the first two months after having my child. I also go this breast pump from my insurance but for me to keep. The Ameda pump has been far better than the Medela. As a side note, I breastfeed my child and pump 3-4 times per day, so I do not exclusively pump. With this pump, I get anywhere from 2-5 ounces per session, it just depends. The only personal issues I have with the machine is that I am not a huge fan of the diaphragms coming loose because I have already needed to replace a few. The whole tipping over of the bottles is pretty annoying but it would happen with the Medela pump as well, so I think its just an issue to expect. Here are some of the issues others mentioned and my input on how to possibly solve them.Issues with suction-Many reviews mention that the suction is bad but from my experience it is actually pretty good! There might be some other factors that are not allowing people's machine to work properly (example: parts that are a bit loose or not using the right settings) and that is why they suction is not that great. I suggest that you read the manual and make sure that all the pieces are where they need to be, the very first time I tried using this pump I was missing one of the pump valves and it had the weakest suction. I was just about to call my insurance because I thought it was defective but we quickly figure out what was going on.Issues with pain- make sure that with ANY breast pump you have the right size flange. I can stress enough how important it is to get the right size flange as soon as possible. I did not find out about this and the first couple of weeks of pumping were so painful. By the time that I got this pump, I had made sure to have the right flanges and pumping has been a breeze!Overall, I am very satisfied and happy with this pump.

Pumps a lot, painful suction
I haven’t bought one from Amazon, was gifted one from someone who had it previously. I am a new mother and was loaned a Medela one from the hospital. The Medela one is faster, quieter, and a LOT LESS painful. This Ameda pump does consistently have me, someone who had a preterm c-section, consistently pumping at LEAST 60 ml right now, but I’m crying in pain for the first few minutes of pumping. I’m having to pump every 3 hrs instead of every two because it hurts so bad, and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. Just beware.

Poor suction, annoying to use
I was given this pump for free through my insurance and am now looking at buying a different pump on my own. I pump exclusively so I have to be strapped into this thing about 7 times a day. The suction on this machine is really low when trying to double pump, meaning I’m forced to single pump and spend twice as long at each session and I can’t do anything else in the meantime (like tend to my baby.) I also find it to be quite noisy, though I don’t have much to compare it to. I find that the flange & bottle tend to tip over very easily if set down for a moment, which has caused me several spills and I have a lot of issues with the flanges leaking. I do manage to empty my breasts with it, but only because I aggressively massage while pumping, otherwise I would be getting maybe a quarter of the output. The flanges can also be uncomfortable even in the “right” size, I think the sharper corners (compared to the hospital grade medela I tried) around the nipple tunnel are a poor design choice and can cause a lot of soreness. I’ve been using it for about four weeks now and already one of the dials is starting to be unresponsive. Can’t wait to kick this pump to the curb.

Terrible
This pump has had me in tears. I had a hospital grade pump, but had to return it and got this one for free from insurance. Since I pay monthly for my health insurance I would have hoped for better than this.Cons:I had to pump twice as long to get not even half the amount of milk. There are extra parts compared to other pumpsYou have to switch it to single breast if not doing both breasts at the same time. One side would often not work.Pro:It's smallIt was free with insurance
