You Wouldn't Want to Be Cleopatra!: An Egyptian Ruler You'd Rather Not Be Paperback – January 1, 2007

The school has the children choose a character from a book for their Halloween costume. This was fun reading for my 9 yr old grand-daughter who chose to be Cleopatra.

This book gives fun interesting facts about the life of Cleopatra. My students love reading these books and laugh throughout the story. The pictures draw the students in making them want to read the text to understand more about what is going on in the story. The author does a great job of trying to describe difficult concepts to students.

I was pretty disappointed when I opened this book, was going to be a Christmas present for my 8 year old daughter. Very graphic and disgusting, I do not recommend.

I ordered this book for my 10 year old daughter for a project on Cleopatra. She could not put it down, and kept saying: Listen to this!.Excellent book.

Told in story form but says a lot about the real cleopatra and her life. A learning book.

This book is a funny but short historical account of Cleopatra, the last Ptolemy. Cleopatra was no saint so expect there to be several references to her family's less then stellar way of handling problems, usually solved through murder. And she was quite the seducer too. This book is not for young children. It is for older students and is really just a quick introduction to this famous Egyptian Queen. This book chronicles her power hungry family, her romance with Julius Ceaser and Marc Antony (this portion is really more along the lines of telling rather than showing.)There are some sidebars about life in Egypt that are sort of tongue in cheek but still filled with facts. Overall I liked this book, it tells the quick story of a very self confident and self serving queen.

I really like this book. I had to do a school project and this was the perfect thing to help me do it. It is totally recommended!

今回は有名なクレオパトラが主人公です。舞台は紀元前６９年、エジプト。　こういう家系に生まれて、政治状況はこうでということはもちろん、知っていると楽しい「実は何人もいたクレオパトラ」、「子どもの頃はこういうことをして育った」、ということも書いてあります。　ちょっと興味がある、軽く勉強しておきたい、深く知りたい。どの場合にも役に立つ本だと思います。
