Seems to work quite well, heats quickly, the element make audible ticks as it cools when you're done. Difficult to find buns that will fit and make the UFO.

Big fun, but you’ll need big, soft brioche burger buns
I’ve wanted one of these UFO burger presses ever since they started showing up all over social media. The biggest hurdle? Finding the right buns. Most store-bought burger buns in the US are way too small for this press, or any UFO burger press for that matter. What you need are large, soft brioche burger buns that are at least 5 inches in diameter. Anything smaller, and it won't press anything together on the sides, your fillings will spill out, and you’ll just get a mess. After lots of searching, I found Bakerly brand “the brioche burger buns” (use their store locator or order online) fit the bill perfectly. If you can’t find those, making your own big, soft brioche buns is the way to go. That’s what I ended up doing because I like baking bread anyway, and I already had the ingredients on hand. Functionally, this machine presses and cooks both sides of your stuffed burger at the same time, giving you an evenly heated, perfectly sealed UFO-shaped sandwich in just a couple of minutes. The controls are simple, the temperature heats up fast, and the dual-sided pressing action means you don’t have to flip anything or fuss with extra tools. Just load your stuffed burger, close the lid, and let it do the work. Cleanup is straightforward for a nonstick appliance, but make sure to wipe it out before anything hardens or cools. With the right bread, my UFO burgers came out fantastic and the whole family is hooked. If you’re willing to hunt down the right buns (or bake your own), this press delivers hot, overstuffed, “Wow, did I just make this?” sandwiches that get rave reviews at the dinner table. Regular supermarket buns won’t work, so plan ahead if you want the full UFO effect.

Too Big for The Largest Buns Available.
I have no idea why they made the indent so large. It’s 4.5 inches in diameter, which is about the size of the largest buns you can even buy. Because of this, the buns won’t seal properly, and you won’t get any UFO shape at all if you use this press. I’ve searched everywhere hoping to find some kind of adapter or insert so I don’t have to completely waste this machine, but no luck. On the plus side, it does a decent job toasting the bread for a regular sandwich. But if you’re buying it specifically to make the UFO shape, it doesn’t deliver, which was the whole point.

***Edited to correct spelling errors((( I'm new to the whole "UFO burger" fad. It's intriguing. I like the added crunch at the edge. Since I didn't have the oversized buns, I opted for stuffed flour tortillas that were the right fit. Crumbled hamburger, cheese,tomatoes, bacon bits, and the right seasoning make for a DELICIOUS meal. It's incredibly easy to use, and I like the analog control. The temperature is easy to set, and the timer is accurate enough. I also like how easy it is to clean. Given all the different ways this can be applied, its functionality is attractive. This is definitely a "luxury" item, since novelty burgers and such are not a mandatory staple. However, if one has the disposable funds, and likes the versatility a press will allow, I can definitely recommend its use. Aside from how easy it is to clean, it also seals inside anything that would splatter, reducing collateral mess. While most of us will have to hunt down the buns that would make use of such a large cavity, we're fortunate enough to live close to an HEB where they are carried. We're also not far away from an Asian market, where I'm sure an accommodating bun size will also be found. I'm seriously considering making an attempt at a variation on tortas (corn masa). Since this will likely work well to sear the edge while heating up the contents, I'm pretty sure it will sufficiently cook the masa to safe eating state. With any meat, well- seasoned sauce and spices, adding cubed potatoes and trimmings could make for a VERY easy (and balanced/nutritious) meal all in one. I'll try to remember to update this review with the results (I can't guarantee I'll remember...). Other than the overly large cavity made for uncommon filling, this is a GREAT utility to have on hand. It becomes a fairly portable mini dutch oven, if needed. I'm also curious to try a "pot pie" variant, using this... I can recommend this, but only with the understanding that it is a non-standard cavity, requiring some modification to the way most of us in America are accustomed to cooking and preparing.

Doesn't Work with US Bun / Roll Sizes
We just got the UFO Burger press. Unfortunately, size wise, the space inside is too large for standard or even large hamburger buns that are found in US grocery stores- but remembering that this press is made in china, this does look like it might work with the bread that they sell at the asian grocery that they use to make chinese cream bread / chinese cream buns from. I also think this may work with conchas / pan dulce, so we might make a trip to both asian and latin bakery departments over the weekend. Will update my review if I can find a roll that will fit the machine so I can test the functionality.

Hard to get just right.
This is very difficult to master. Took several tries with different mix consistency. I am not sure I got it right just yet, but it does work as described. It's heavy duty and sturdy. I think it can work in a restaurant and take a lot of frequent uses. It's very easy to clean. I was going to use this with my kids, but the entire machine is a bit hard to work with and gets very hot. It's harder to use than a waffle maker, but the hard part is producing food that looks neat like the pictures and isn't falling apart.

A fun kitchen gadget for burger lovers!
The first thing you need to know is that if you are making burgers with this, make sure the bun is large enough! A regular size but doesn't really produce the desired effect. I suggest measuring the opening in the machine and make sure you buns that are just a bit larger. Our first attempt didn't really pan out exactly as we hoped, but I get it. It's really cool and I look forward to trying again, very soon. That being said, this thing looks like it belongs on the counter of a cafe or little restaurant! It is definitely not some plastic kitchen toy that will break after the 2nd use. It's very well made! The non-stick coating makes it very easy to clean and there really wasn't any mess, anyway. Based on the price of this style of burger maker when they first came out, this one is very budget friendly and if you are into making cooking fun, this is for you! I love it and look forward to trying many of the ideas I found online. Lot's of videos pout there for inspiration, for sure!
