As deep as the Mariana Trench
This mix isn't new - I've had it for a few years - but I bought it recently for a friend, and feel it deserves a glowing review. It's a Techno mix, but not jacking nosebleed Teutonic stuff. It’s as deep as the Mariana Trench, and sometimes almost as dark, but definitely much warmer! For me this doesn’t work as background music – you have to invest in it.It’s a masterwork in layers – mid-range, punch bass, deep bass and sub-bass. A mix to dive into and swim in.Massively atmospheric and occasionally ethereal, but all with a constant, driving, inescapable and insistent rhythm underlying the melodies.Ideal accompaniment: late night, maybe back from an outing (post-pandemic); in a drunk-but-not-wasted mood; or just when you want to escape to somewhere otherworldly. Very much a night-time soundtrack.Excellent!

The calm AFTER the storm
Avery has most definitely taken the left-hand path with this mix - a lot of artists use mixes to convey a message, a feeling, a journey to a massive peak or peaks…it’s somewhat rarer for a DJ to focus on the lull after the waves of sound have crashed an died down. This is the 3am to 6am slot at your favourite techno club. Gone are the funky openers, and the peak of the night has passed. This is the slot for the dark, hypnotic, repetitive baselines in all their teeth-grinding glory.Deep techno to get lost in - pinned to the dance floor, long after you lost your mates on your night out.

Classic
Play this album loud, because it sounds astonishing,a really submersive peace of ambient techno. The whole thing is seamlessly mixed with some truly stunning tracks, listen loud & maybe in a dark room as well.Outstanding,an album that'll blissfully washes over you.
