RFID For Dummies

For a Supply Chain or Operations/Logistics Manager it is Perfect
This book finely details out the necessary understanding for management level of a warehouse/production plant/distribution center so that they can make decisions on what kind of RFID deployment they may need to undertake. Important elements such as cost, structure and scope are addressed. Also, a few insider tips on how other current best practices use RFID to increase inventory visibility and accuracy. The book doesn't go in to deep detail on the physics side of RFID technology, so an engineer, scientist or techy perhaps will not find what they are looking for, here. However, it does help project managers in warehouse construction help plan layout for RFID technology to be used. A great feature I found was that the book stressed the importance of testing the technology inside your warehouse or DC before investing in the whole project. RFID sometimes has interference issues and although most problems can be worked out, some require layout changes so that the 'reads' can be more effective. This book carefully describes how to get up and running with a test to plan where to put your instruments.

Any eye opener for RFID
I am very glad to have bought this book. I needed something to give me a primer on issues and needs about RFID networks, and how one might implement this. This book gave me a lot of valuable information to START my quest to implement RFID. True, after this one needs more; but one can approach the topic with enough understanding of the principles to dig deeper.Beyond this; if you're looking for something to read before you go to sleep; this might be considered an "Ambien" of a book.

Slightly Out of Date
Should have checked the publication date. While the book is well written, it is older and partially outdated. That being said, the basics are all there and I am learning from the text. As with most books in the "For Dummies" series, the information is clearly presented and reviews

Good but info is aging
Information good, especially for planning physical installations, but aging. An updated version would be helpful. Was looking for more complete coverage of the RFID coding structure, but only found a smattering.

It's OK
Much of the material is now dated as the field of RFID changes so quickly. Could benefit from being be updated.

A must read for RFID freaks
A really good and complete book to understand the real complexity of an RFID system behind a simple concept, I really recommend eventhough this book is quite old now the basics and methodology described is still valid !

Bonne documentation
Livre en parfait état. Les explications datent un peu . mais les principes sont bien expliqués. C'est assez complet pour comprendre qu'on ne s'improvise pas maître es RFID.
