Natural Peanut Free Creamy 4.4lb Jars, 2 Pack

This is by far the closest to real peanut butter we have ever found. Having a peanut allergy kid was a rough start but we love this product. All 3 of my non allergy kids use it too and love it. We buy the huge jars a few time a year! So worth the money.

After my youngest daughter was diagnosed with a severe peanut (tree nut) allergy we began the hunt for something to replace my eldest daughter's favorite sandwich. We went originally with sunflower seed butter, which was by far my favorite due to the fact that I love sunflower seeds. However, after a few months of usage my daughter began to exhibit mild allergic reactions to the sunflower seed butters (even though they were manufactured on equipment that does not manufacture peanuts). We also tried hemp butters but my daughters did not like the flavor. So we moved on to soy butter. The Wowbutter started originally because of it's availability in our local grocery store, but was cemented as a house favorite soon there after. One of my daughters has a huge sweet tooth, but she will not allow us to destroy her favorite sandwich, bread and Wowbutter, nothing more, nothing less. The flavor is more akin to roasted soy beans than peanut butter which is reassuring for my daughter, due to being able to definitively know that it is not peanut butter. This product came w/out any excessive oils sitting on top, there was no need to mix the soy butter, just scoop and spread. The size is great for a family that eats soy butter sandwiches and/or "soy jam sams" at least twice a week, but in most cases more often. We used to go through about 10 (plus or minus 1) jars each semester, so this size is a lot more economical and has yet to spoil or encompass any quality degradation at all. Great product! Update - still using this as our only nut butter substitute. It bakes well (read wow butter blossoms (sb cookie with a kiss on top) - which actually taste better than pb blossoms). It keeps well. It's better tasting than all other soy butter products we've tried. And overall the taste is great.

Aptly named because (no kidding) the first reaction we had to this produce was "WOW! This actually tastes like peanut butter!!" WE LOVE THIS STUFF! When we first purchased this product a few months ago, we had not had peanut butter of any kind in any form in our house for 5 years. We found out when my son (now six) was 15 months old that he had a peanut/tree nut allergy. Different families deal with food allergies in different ways; we decided to go nut free as a family for the peace of mind it affords us. But it is a real sacrifice because my husband and I both love peanut butter. On the rare occasion that my husband and I go out together without the kids, we will grab a peanut butter smoothie or sandwich, but is never enough to curb our peanut butter cravings. Our daughter, now nearly 4, has never even tasted peanut butter. Our son doesn't remember the only time he ever tried it. So they don't miss it, but we sure do! WowButter has been nothing short of a game-changer for us. We eat it ALL the time (something we need to get a handle on - thanks WowButter). Our son LOVES it. We LOVE it. Life is good. That said, I have had a couple of regular-peanut-butter-eating friends try it and their reactions were somewhat different. One said, "Oh yeah, I could see how you'd like that. It's not Jif, but it does kind of taste like peanuts. It's made of soy? That's really kinda crazy." The other one said, "Yuck! It has a nasty after-taste. It tasted like peanuts at first, but I can't stand the after-taste." So maybe it's an amazing product for those of use who are, for one reason or another, peanut butter deprived, but not so amazing for regular peanut butter eaters. It doesn't really matter, because regular peanut butter eaters are not this product's target audience. And honestly, I don't notice any after-taste at all. I can (not that I should) eat it right out of the jar. It makes for an amazing Elvis (grilled peanut butter and banana). It makes great smoothies. I haven't baked with it yet, but I have every reason to believe I will get delicious fake peanut butter cookies out of it. And, thank the gods, I can now enjoy a plain old peanut butter sandwich in my own home! Thank you WowButter Foods! Thank you Canada! You've made us so happy!!

I love peanut butter but can not eat it anymore. I get kidney stones and peanut butter is higher in oxalates. This peanut butter substitute is amazing. It tastes great and I would highly recommend it!

minus 1 star for the consistency. The creaminess is good and bad: Good, because it spreads very easily on untoasted bread; Bad, because I find it almost too soft. I find that the oil and nuts separate more than other brands and I have to stir it before I make the sandwich. The flavor is more like peanut butter, but it still has the definite soy nut after taste, which isn't bad, but just something to note. My son, who is allergic to peanuts, really enjoys this spread. This brand and size is much more economical than buying the small jar of another brand that is available at my local grocery store. The small 16 oz jar is $8. I would recommend this.
