Worth the money; in the field you will be glad
I bought these for my niece, who is just entering healthcare, after using them myself over the past year in healthcare. These scissors will cut through things that many other trauma shears won't, and a year later they're still as sharp as they were when I got them. It is definitely worth it to spend more for these shears. Especially if you are in EMS or any trauma fields or any medical field where when you need to cut, you need to do it now without any problems.I am in the OR now, and I watch my colleagues struggle cutting thick Ortho glass to make splints. We have a huge pair of scissors and even with them, it's a real fight to cut the stuff. With these shears, I cut them like it was butter.Highly recommend.

Fantastic Shears
I recently purchased my second pair of xShears, and I have to say, I’m just as impressed as I was with my first pair! The main reason I ordered this new pair? I couldn’t resist the awesome color options—purely a style choice! My original pair, which I’ve had for about five years, is still going strong. They’re as sharp and functional as the day I got them, even after putting them through the wringer cutting through Sam splints, zippers, and tough clothing. There are a few minor nicks in the blade from heavy use, but they still cut like a dream. I’m blown away by how lightweight yet incredibly durable these shears are. Thank you, xShears, for making such a reliable, high-quality product that holds up year after year! Highly recommend to anyone needing a dependable pair of shears.

Green and black!
Just got these yesterday (6/3/2025) and they feel solid and very well made. I was very happily surprised that the green handle version came with the black coating instead of the stainless steel color. The listing did not show that option, and I really wanted the black, but couldn’t pass on the green handle. Time will tell if these are really as good as everyone claims but right now, no complaints. Edit: Even with being thicker than the standard run of the mill shears, these do fit in the shear pockets of TruSpec brand tactical/EMS pants, unlike my Leatherman Raptors.

Heavy Duty Trauma Shears
The media could not be loaded. I wanna address the pants issue that people are having; watch the video, you probably just have a different style than other people that are leaving the “they don’t fit” reviews. At first glance, these things are the real deal. I’ve personally been waiting for a reason to get my hands on them and I eventually ran into an ER nurse that had a pair. Seeing them in person and watching them cut smoothly finally sold me.Are these worth $40? Yes. If you work in the medical field / EMS, doubly so. Usually I carry 2 pair of shears in case one decides to break down on me but after grabbing these I can free up some space lol.I hate to say I want to use them on a call myself but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to break them in.They’re THICCC shears; I’d say you could melt down almost 3 disposable shears and melt them down into how thick the blades are. They can pass the ‘penny test’ which is pretty dope. I’m not gonna go out of my way to cut a penny but knowing that someone else has in their review is cool. The grips are very nice. Since they’re a soft rubber on the handles, there’s no room for error with regards to how disposables have the stamped plastic that’s usually sharp or not filed down. Gloves won’t snag on these handles. The blades are pretty slick. I like the flat smooth tips compare to how the disposables have that weird kinda flat notch on one blade.Do they fit in EMS pants? Depends on the pants. The video I uploaded covers what 5.11 sells so make your own judgement there.I recommend these. I will use these until they break and I don’t see that happening for a hot minute. Eventually I’ll upload an edit to this review after I’ve spent more time with them and have them worn in pretty well. Also, I am an EMT for reference incase that helps.*EDIT* ONE MONTH POST PURCHASE: Alright so recently I had a trauma call for a woman with a broken hip. If you are in the medical field you know that rule number one with trauma is to get'em naked so I finally flexed these bad boys. These shears are DEFINITELY the real deal. I was able to smooth right through a pair of jeans from the ankle to the waist as well as a belt that overlapped on itself (1cm thick of leather) with extreme ease. Above in this review I mentioned that they were a little stiff to operate initially BUT when you are going through the paces and in the heat of the moment, you don't even notice. I've cut through nasal cannula tubing, now jeans with a belt, and other miscellaneous things during the month I've owned them and I don't think I could recommend these enough. 100% worth the buy and I may even mess around and buy another set in blue. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY reccomend.*EDIT: THREE MONTHS LATER*So I want to address the pants issue what I spoke about with the shears initially. I ended up making the shears fit PERFECTLY when I put the blade into the pen holder and use the Velcro latch on my pats to go through the handle. By sacrificing the pen slot on my cargo pocket, it completely eliminated the pulling and stretching on the tab. This worked for both pants. Just make sure you feed the Velcro tab through the small handle on the shears and guide the blades into the pen pocket. As far as quality goes, the xShears are still kicking major butt. At this point I’ve cut through boots, belts, heavy denim, thick leather (the belt from the above review and some more) and they are still brand new. I’m beyond satisfied with this purchase and I’ll be buying another one for my partner as a Christmas gift. 10/10, no regrets.EDIT: One Year Later - Last reviewStill in EMS and I’ve used them at least once for the past 365 days. Still amazingly sharp like the day I got’em and are apart of my EDC. You can cut from the ankle to the neck of someone in about 15 seconds if your hand doesn’t cramp; I’ve done it with them. At this point, it’s knowing that I have reliability on my leg when I’m in the crap of calls. If you’ve read this far, just get’em dude.

The patients cloths do not stand a chance!
Quality:Far superior than the low dollar shears. No bending or twisting.
