Good weight, nice appearance. My only complaint is that it wasn't full tang. You can feel the shift a little when you swing it. Hardly noticeable, but still...

Great blade, sharp, straight and strong. The construction of the sword however, not so solid. Wish the handle was full tang and I am scared to take swings with this as I feel it may break. Always, loved this brand but this sword did not come MINT had some dings so could have been a return.

"Tama" means marble, as in the marbling of the Japanese iron used to make the sword. Yes, it does also mean jewel, but there's several translations. The most important one here, is Pig. Japanese refer to their own iron, tamahagane, as "pig iron", because it's not good or high in carbon. Just remember, just because it's expensive and authentic, doesn't mean it's good.
