No Drivers for Windows 7
I replaced the existing wireless card in my Inspiron 1440 with this card. There are no working drivers available for Windows 7, so I ended up having to go ahead and upgrade my laptop to Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 installed the drivers for the card and it is working fine so far. The Windows 7 drivers downloaded from Intel do not work - not digitally signed with a valid signature and you can't get them to install. I did find that I kept losing Internet connection and had to manually add a gateway address to the network adapter, but that is probably more an issue with my current wireless AP/Verizon wireless configuration setup. I'm not noticing a huge increase in download speed from the old b/g wireless card I replaced.

Works well, replaced my wireless card in Samsung Np q430
I had to unscrew about 30 screws and pull apart my laptop, but sure enough after installing the card and updating the drivers it worked. Now i can connect to my 5 ghz wifi signal.

Verify that this will work in your machine before buying ...
Verify that this will work in your machine before buying it. There were no drivers available to make it work in my laptop. I tried for hours, and I'm not a novice. It's not the seller's fault, and I didn't bother to return it.

IT FROZE MY LAPTOP AGAIN AND AGAIN
I had to search for the driver when I installed it, which took a little time. After I was up and running, it would freeze or lock up the computer after a few minutes. I tried changing settings (some sites suggested increasing power consumption) to no avail. I pulled this card out and put my old one back in. Less speed and range, but no FREEZING!

Upgrade wireless
I installed this in my Dell 17R computer - the instructions I will not go into, but you can find them on YouTube as that is another subject. After I installed the card, I re-booted the computer and Win7 found the drivers for it right away to get me on the internet. I then went out to the Intel Support site and got the Intel driver for this card along with the PROset Wireless utilities. This wireless card is a huge upgrade over the OEM Intel Centrino 1000 that was in my Dell. I am now able to connect over the 5Ghz band on my wireless-N router and speeds are close to 300 Mbps down, which is faster than hooking up an ethernet cord to my router. Downside is that this card does not support bluetooth, but I knew that when I ordered it. I believe WIMAX is for Sprint networks only. I am not on Sprint, so unable to check this.
