Its a great truck
READ THE DESCRIPTIONThere are literally pages of 1 star reviews over the plastic driveshafts. Listed in the description is that you can contact the seller for a *free* replacement driveshaft / axle / differential. That upgrade is amazing and makes this truck from maybe a 2/5 to a 4/5 alone and it is free. The differentials (they are locked on all models of this truck) also have metal gears. I have been running these things pretty hard and they and the metal driveshaft has been holding up like a champion. The truck itself: (I have 4-5 depending on what you consider functional)- The truck is not fast. I've seen that mentioned. But neither is its actual real life counterpart its based on, because both vehicles are designed to have more torque than speed. (I mean, it's not a rc sports car...)- It has variable throttle, and a brushless DC motor. The motor is on a fast acting thermistor so it if you overwhelm it, Instead of getting way hot/damaging stuff it will... "jiggle"... The best way I can put it. Basically if you put too much stress on the motor it will not damage it or the circuit. I cannot recall this motor ever even getting warm. (The motor is what makes the beep sound when you turn it on, you can verify this by moving the wheels when you turn the truck on. This is a common trait of almost all brushless DC motors).- The truck is pretty light. If you go downhill with it, you will notice it bouncing. I cannot imagine that would be comfortable in any way shape or form for anyone inside of the truck but as long as you do not ride inside of the RC truck, it will be fine. For being pretty light, it can carry quite a bit. I managed to get it to pull around about 10LBs with a trailer.- The 4x4 is true full time AWD with equal power distribution- The hood can be tough to open. I found success by pushing my fingernail in between the bit of the hood closest to the cab and the rest of the body, to push the hood forward, then gently prying up the hood. I have no issues with opening the hood now.- The battery is not perfect but it does a decent job considering what the battery actually is. Its 2 500 mA 4.2 14500 batteries in series. It has a BMS, which is surprising. The batteries are in series, so the truck runs on 8.4V, also known as a 2C battery. They give you two of these batteries which is nice but even then I ran the truck hard enough that I ended up building my own battery out of 18650s in series and they work great and I get literally an hour to two hours of runtime. And yes 2 18650s will fit under the hood without any modification. I have also noticed the truck has more torque and power, not a huge change, but a noticeable one.- The camera does not have perfect design or actual camera quality, but it works and it gets the job done and unless you are used to 4k cameras you will probably not notice much.- There is no variable steering, but then again at this speed and price you pay for I definitely am not complaining. Note, there is actually a way to solder in a potentiometer into the controller to give it variable steering- The customer support is amazing. If you need anything, believe me you can contact them and they will help you and try to give you a great customer experience.TL:DRIt's a great truck if you get the metal driveshafts (for free) and it runs great and is surprisingly capable especially if you put the time into modifying it

I am so tired of fixing this thing!
The truck is really cool looking with a realistic suspension and drive lines. It's also relatively quick and fun to play with. But I am so tired of fixing it! The plastic u-joints constantly pop out of the sockets and break (no wonder with those drive line angles!) . I have been replacing them with metal pins and that has been working OK. The remote has broken twice. Each time it's a different piece of plastic that has broken, mostly having to do with the steering control. The truck is cool, but this last break of the remote and I'm done with it as it's not something that can be fixed. My son is bummed out that every time he uses it, it breaks. Pretty disappointed for an $80 toy. When the remote broke the first time we were still able to still use it with the phone app. But the phone app has since been removed from the play store, so that is not longer an option.

My first RC truck
My son is five year old and has gone through a fair number of remote control cars. I bought him this toy truck, because it had 4wd and a camera attached. I think the best feature of this toy is 4wd; I actually took it to my back yard and played with it. My son is too young to care much about being able to see the front view from the truck , but I think it is pretty cool. I think if my son were a bit older, he would appreciate more about this feature. Btw, if you have a thick phone case, the phone holder won't hold your phone very well. Even though, I bought this for my son, I found it quite amusing to play with it. Overall, I am happy with this RC toy and I am hooked. Next time I want to try something faster.

It's a trap!
Great little truck - works well and looks great - but there is an Achilles heal and it broke within 2 days. The drive shafts are made of cheap plastic and break easily with normal use. Basically, don't buy this truck unless you also want to spend the $20 extra to also buy the companion upgraded metal drive shafts (item "Remoking RC Hobby Military Truck Accessories-Drive Shaft Set with Gear Box Fit for WPL and Other Military Truck"). I guess I kinda figured that a ~$80 RC truck should be able to last for more than 2 days of off-and-on driving before it breaks, and shouldn't require an upgrade kit just to keep it going. I feel like I've been trapped and "taken for a ride", quite literally.Update 11/2019:Truck has been making a grinding noise when driving for quite a while now. Finally got to the point where the truck barely moved and all we heard was grinding. Took it apart and found that one of the plastic gears in the motor's gearbox was stripped - it was missing more than half the teeth on the gear. Apparently, at some point, under normal driving, a tooth broke and then it just kept getting worse from there. My son loves this truck, so we are going to try to get a replacement gearbox.... but, I fully expect it to break again at some point. The truck is just not well made - it's critical parts are plastic and wear/break too easily.
