Giani Wood Look Paint for Garage Doors- Step 2 Wood Grain Finish Coat Pint (Black Walnut)

WOW!!!! Amazing product. I thought I was going to have to spend tons on a new garage door. This product made it look stunning and new. My garage was brown so I didn’t have to prime under. I used roughly 3 coats to get my desired looked and still had product left. It was easy! It dries quick so no waiting around for coats to dry. Coverage and durability on point. The price is right! Included a before and after. Love this product.

See the pics. It totally worked. My neighbor left his old ugly fence behind the new fence that he built. I couldn’t remove it because it wasn’t my fence. :( I’ve been trying to find a solution for several months. Then I came across this product. Wow. Amazing difference. A few tips on how to apply. Use the step 1 paint and let it dry completely. Apply the step 2 paint with any paint mitt (a brush left too many straight lines, but the mitt was perfect!). I debated between red oak and honey oak. I ended up going with a very light coat of honey oak and then a light coat of red oak on top (since I had ordered both). The honey oak by itself wasn’t orange enough to blend in with my other fence, but together it looks great! You can’t really go wrong with either color, they are very similar. Also - the honey oak looks dark in the can, but it is NOT dark when applied to the base coat!!! So don’t worry!

2 step product. I’ve used similar products in the past, this was similar. Step one went on smooth no issues. Step 2 weather work day or work slow lol there’s no in between. Keep the edges wet so you can blend it in better. It was pulling up some of the paint in spots as I went but in all fairness maybe I didn’t scrub the doors good enough or years of muck I didn’t know about was making it resistant. Otherwise skill level needed on 1-10 I’d go with a skill level of 4. You can do it. The MIT works better when you don’t wear it as a glove. Roll it up in a ball. I could’ve done a better job but was Momm’in multitasking. Dedicate the time to only this when doing it. Especially the second coat process.

I bought the 16oz option but was sent the 8oz version. Not worth the price for how small it is and inaccurate description visually and in the title. I’ve started a return and replacement and hope to get the right product this time, I will update my review when this is sorted. Buyer please be aware.

I figured if it could make steel doors look like wood it should be able to make wood look like wood. I was skeptical but with so many positive reviews I figured I’d take a chance. It turned out fantastically! My painted rough cut beams now look like wood beams again! We liked it so much we got a second can to paint a corner “tv stand” thing. That turned out nicely too. I already had a base coat on everything so I only got Step 2 (honey oak). One can did all three beams two (very light) coats each. (Literally… just enough.). I only used 1/2 can on my corner thing. I applied using a bristle brush on both the beams and the corner stand.
