A favorite Christmas gift
My son was so excited to get this gift. It has so many little features that a real gun would have. One of my sons favorite gifts.

Fun revolver that's similar to the real thing
This revolver is a good time. It simulates firing a real revolver by having each bullet be its own little blaster, leaving the launching mechanism behind in the shell form. The little red bullets are not very accurate, and don't go super far. But that is what you might expect from the entire shooting mechanism being in each bullet. it's still a blast to use and feels more realistic when you have to eject your spent shells and load up new bullets. I'll drop one point due to poor range/accuracy. Otherwise, it's a fun little blaster!

Realistic toy revolver
Works well and is easy to use. The rubber darts took some effort to push into the individual casings but the included loader makes it simple for kids to set up. The darts are very small and low impact and can get easily scattered around when playing. Overall it is fun toy for backyard games or pretend play.

Good for kids, pets, and Roombas
It’s a clever concept, basically a springer pistol but in revolver form. It is lightweight but doesn’t feel overly cheap, it’s definitely a change from airsoft and gel blaster guns. Unlike other spring pistols, the spring is actually located in the cartridge rather than the gun. The revolver itself is very little more than a plastic frame. The minimalist double-action-only action serves its purpose of “setting off” the round in the chamber, and the cylinder mechanism is probably the most complex piece of hardware on here (it works just as a revolver cylinder does). The set includes a loading tool that assists you in pushing the bullets into the shells against the pressure of the spring inside. When the cartridge is so charged, the “primer” protrudes from the back lightly, and pushing it inward causes the bullet to spring out of the cartridge. It’s a simple system, and isn’t dependent on the power of a single spring in the gun, which will extend its life. Its been a great cat toy (though you shouldn’t shoot it *at* your cat), she loves to chase the bouncing pellets around the house, and bats them around on the slippery wood floors to exhaustion. I have one kid loading the bullets while the other shoots, and keeps them busy until it’s time to go fall the little orange bullets all over the house. Those little bullets do go all over, prepare to lose many of them into floor registers, under furniture, and into seat cushions. Because they are hard plastic, they do bounce off hard surfaces, and will sting if you shoot your own softer surfaces. I’ve had to check the Roomba daily before tossing, finding at least a half dozen each time. There are 100 bullets, so you may never completely run out, at least.

Shoots about 10 feet. Weird bullet system. I don't recommend buying.
I got this to encourage my daughters cat from jumping on top of my printer or my counters. The bullets are weird and you have to put them together before loading them. It comes with some plastic pieces that you load the casing into and then you load the bullet piece into the other and you're supposed to press them together. It was faster and easier to just load them one at a time by hand. They're spring loaded but the springs aren't very springy lol. Once loaded they don't shoot very far at all. They didn't even startle the cat. The description of this toy gun says it shoots a distance of 32 feet. They should change that to 10 feet. I don't recommend buying this at all.

It's like I'm back in 1987!
Ok... I'm officially old. So old that I can remember "toys" like this being sold in every toy store in America. While I completely understand why, this still makes me feel a warm and fuzzy nostalgia that reminds me of simpler times. Anyway... The gun is super cool and quite realistic looking. That said, please be a responsible parent and don't buy this for kids who might take it somewhere and freak people out. This could ABSOLUTELY be mistaken for a real gun under certain conditions. Please do your kids and law enforcement a solid and ensure this "toy" stays where it belongs: Inside YOUR house. While the gun shoots, it's not very powerful. That's fine because what makes this thing cool is the realistic way you need to load it. I got this to play "cops and robbers" with my grandson when he gets old enough and it will be PERFECT for that! Cool toy!

Not very impressive.
I'll be honest, my expectations were possibly a little too high. It looks cool out of the box, thry definitely nailed a solid aesthetic, but I can't get over how it feels awkward in the hand compared to a real pistol, the trigger guard and grips need a redesign to be more ergonomic. The "bullets" fire via a spring loaded "brass" casing that launches the plastic pellet when the "primer" is pushed on, and the spring is unfortunately weak. There is no force at all behind the hammer's impact and the pellet has a severe rainbow that takes it like 10 feet before it's so low you can't hit anything. Dissapointing. If they made it a more powerful shot, I'd rate 4 stars, and if they fixed ergonomics too I would rate 5. A young child might still have fun with this, as the cylinder mechanism and method of loading is unique for toy guns, but it doesn't do it for me.
