Illustrated Myths & Legends of China: The Ages of Chaos and Heroes

I'm half-way through this book and it's great! It features over 20 short stories with related historical artifacts and paintings. The paintings range from ancient to modern times. Personally I would've preferred less modern paintings, but I understand why they were included. Each artifact/painting has an informative caption. There are also some short info boxes that explain some cultural or historical points. I find the translation to be satisfactory.The book is a compact, medium size that fits easily on my bookshelf. The title is in raised metallic blue and red lettering. It looks better in-person than it does online. The layout of the book is easy to read.

I am really looking forward to reading this a second time.This book raised a lot of questions for me and that's a very good thing. I feel I am much more able to learn about China than I was before reading it.
