These are the very best in every way.
I used to play guitar with harmonicas for many years, but got away from it for quite some time. I always take very good care of my musical devices. There is nothing worse than getting an item that fails, and that is what happened to many harmonicas. The one single Hohner Marine Band Harmonica among the other brands I formerly had, was the only "survivor" over the course of many years. I saw this set and couldn't resist purchasing it. The sound and build quality is of the kind to be excellently accepted. Because of the ease of use, these are significantly attributable in upgrading my confidence in resuming playing. When it comes to note quality, sound resonance, the clearest strength in tone, and build quality, these stand out being the very best. Thank you and Best regards.

Value and great product. needed adjustment.
the Marine Band is a great harp. this set was very good value for money. the case may come in useful too. the harps were not set up ideally to be easily playable for me. really this just amounted to the gaps being set too wide. its easy to fix, but because of the nailed-together construction of the 'classic' 1896 marine band, its a problem for some folks. its not a problem unique to this harp though; many harmonicas of all brands and models are hard to play because of this issue. IMHO, a person who wants to play the harmonica really has to learn how to adjust the reed gaps or purchasing a new harp will always be hit and miss. 4 out of 5 of these harps were hard to play until i adjusted them. now they're all sweet. my 4 star rating is based on the value for money and basic soundness of the product.

Outstanding value
Not too long before purchasing this set I bought a Marine Band harp in Ab from my local music store. I already had six Hohner Golden Melody harps in my collection, as well as one Lee Oscar, all of which are very good harps. But, from the first song I played on the wooden combed Marine Band I was amazed at the clear, rich tones it produced. When I came across this set I knew it was something I had to have. The price is simply outstanding for a five harp set. Another bonus is the zippered, padded case. I expected a cheap vinyl soft-sided case, but it turns out it's quite sturdy and well made, probably worth twenty bucks in itself. Needless to say, the harps are of the highest quality, with each reed of all five harps in perfect tune. I know they will be getting a lot of use!

Great for learning, these sound awesome!
So I started learning to play a few weeks ago and needed a set of different keys. After some research and a history lesson I chose these and am thrilled so far! I go out on the river and toss on any key backing track I want on YouTube and start playing along. For a beginner it's fantastic practice! I recommend picking up a set if you're interested in learning or if you already have a C and just want the other keys like I did. They all have their own sound, and it's a lot of fun!

The harps are amazing sound wise. I have multiple Horner harp versions, but this is the best tone by far… HOWEVER, and this is big however, the edges of the brass cover is poorly finished and has a sharp edge, that can draw blood. I’ve had to file down every harp to make it usable…be warned..buy this for the tone, but be sure you can handle the need for fileing

What is left to say that hasn’t been said already about Marine Bands? Oh yeah, they got kind of expensive, but this ( 189,99) was the cheapest I saw for now. And those harmonicas have been played by every one of your idols, from Little Walter to Butterfield passing by Dylan and Neil Young. During the 80’s the quality control was kind of loose, but now those are quite nice to play out of the box again. Check videos on YouTube about gaping and whatnot if you’d like to customise your Marine Band!
