Great as every Stallings book I've read
I have this book as a reference for networking topics, it is great, you can read only to know enough or deep in details. I like it a lot.

This book is written with the understanding that the reader is well versed in the material. It bounces back and forth between an elementary subject knowledge and intermediate-to-advanced concepts. Give yourself time to read and study the material. Also, be aware that if you rent this book, you can get anything from a brand new book (which I didn't), to a bent-cornered, loosely-bound, written in copy.

Detailed textbook
A great textbook, all the nitty gritty in the one place. Unfortunately not exactly what I was looking for but usefull to keep on the shelf.

Frustratingly Confusing Gibberish
College text so have to use it.First, watch out for which edition - I ended up with the "international" not US...Questions at the end of the chapters come out of nowhere....and sometimes do not seem to be connected to material in the chapter.Simple concepts are made unnecessarily difficult. Some areas go into painful detail that I doubt I will ever use in practice, but the useful stuff is skipped over and not in enough detail....Edit - I now completed reading the entire book. The further I read the more the book degenerated.I would now sum this book us as frustratingly confusing gibberish. If you have to use this text book:1. GOOD LUCK!2. Go buy another text book and study that so you have some vague hope about what Data and Computer Communications is trying to teach.

Book content is good. DRM sucks
The content is good. However, the DRM is oppressive. I purchased the digital copy for the ease of portability, however I have to deactivate my kindle app account on one device before being able to download it on another. This proves exceptionally annoying when I want to switch between reading on my tablet and laptop, for example.
