Outward Hound Floatiez Narwhal Floating Interactive Dog Toy, Large

I refreshed our pool toys this year & it’s the favorite. It does get dirty if dragged through a flower bed but it washes right off. Very cute & appears to be tough! We are always happy with Outward Hound toys & puzzles.

First I must say, I just ordered another one because she loved it so much. I literally just gave it to her 20 mins ago and the hard ball in the middle is already broken (busted in half) and the seams are already ripped and fraying. However, she absolutely loved it. She ran around like a fool, tossed it in the air, and shook the hell out of it, slapping herself silly with the points of the star that flop. Look up Havanese if you aren't familiar with the breed. They are much like a Shih Tzu in size and bite radius. So yeah, the fact that she tore it up means it's not made very well - it never made it into the water. The next one, I will only let her play with in the pool and see if that works better.

My dog destroyed it within seconds (expected) but the giggly noise did not last in the water.

Super cute, the giggle noise is a hit. It soaks up water and still floats. Easy to toss too!Problem is, the seams are not durable at all. I've gone through 2 of them in the last 2 months with my Malinois puppy just learning how to dock dive and swim. When I noticed the first one start to split it was retired to just a regular toy and was shredded in 10 minutes. The second one has made it slightly longer only because we haven't been at the pool as often but this weekend it was also retired to a regular toy and shredded.I have one left and then will be moving on to a tougher material toy. If your dog just retrieves and drops this toy it may be fine but if your dog likes to hold on or bite while in their mouth, the toy will not last.

So in addition to this one bought the turtle and the narwhal toys. The turtle was great and it’s held up but the first day using the Narwhal the seams started fraying and ripping and we had to sew up. It seems the material used is given to fraying And on the toys that have a little more stuffing it put stress on the seams. This stingray has a large circular squeaker in it so we may have the same problem as the narwhal we’ll see. With that said the material used is somewhat heavy duty and we use it as a pool toy for our dog and he loves it .

I was really excited about this starfish toy because the design would allow my dog to essentially have his mouth closed when swimming/playing fetch in the pool, limiting his water intake. Unfortunately the fun only lasted a few days before the ball broke inside and the seam started to come apart. I hadn’t allowed him to chew it a bunch and had limited his access to the toy to pool time only. I’d made the mistake of giving him the narwhal to play with a few days before we got in the pool and I had to throw that one out because he’d started to come apart. Anyway, after a few days of general use, this starfish ended up at the bottom of the pool leaving a very confused puppy swimming in circles. Ha! Design was great. I added a star for that. Quality and durability were just unfortunately lacking. The crab is still holding up pretty well.

I bought this for my 9 month old puppy who loves to play but has too gentle of a mouth to really squeeze/bite on squeaky toys to make them squeak.This is my favorite toy I have ever gotten him. He loves it SO much. I can not stress how cute it is to see him hold a tiny corner of the stingray's wing and shake it with all his might to make it make the funny sounds. It is a really cute toy and it makes me so happy to see how much he loves the toy. The only issue I will say is that my GSD got a hold of it for approximately 1 minute when I looked away and destroyed the squeaky immediately. She likes traditional squeak toys and is good at disabling squeakers.... this is not a good toy for that at all because it depends on some internal mechanism sliding back and forth and the dent from biting the tube made it unable to make any sounds. I ended up buying 2 more of these stingrays and am very careful not to let my adult GSD play with them.Our friend also got this toy for their lab who loves the water and she loves playing with it in her tiny kiddie pool (she also destroyed the squeaker quickly).Absolutely love this toy

great durable toy, but the dogs did not play with it. thrown in the water, its flat profile made it difficult for the dogs to see where it landed. It was also difficult to throw, as it is light and catch in the wind.

Excited about a floppy floating brightly colored water toy for dogs?Don't Be!The center of the Sea Star is a hard ball to help keep the item afloat.Within 10 seconds the hard ball is cracked in exactly half and the item is no longer floating.My dog doesn't destroy toys. She doesn't pull anything apart.Severally disappointed.

The Outward Hound Floatiez Clown Fish is a fun floating toy for puppies and dogs alike! This is one of our preferred toys to encourage puppies to "take", "fetch", "carry", "hold it" and "give" games/basic training. The bright colours make it easy to find in the yard when used in outdoor play. We also will toss it in a small pool for pups and dogs alike to encourage fun and enriching water play experiences. The weight makes it easy to toss a decent distance and it floats with ease. The flat design makes it easy for puppies to pick up and carry. Our Irish Setters and Golden Retriever all love it. When we were training our adolescent pups in the river we tied a rope on it when we threw it in just to make sure we could get it back. :) Our family rates this a definite 5 bones!
