This is WAY better than trying to pull weeds by hand or with a small weed removal tool. I was able to fly along my yard and lawn and remove tons of weeds with very little effort. The tool itself feels very sturdy and is very easy to assemble. You basically just snap together 3 or so pieces and you are off to the races. The tool is mostly metal based with the weed ejection system, top handle and lever being plastic based, but I don't see those as being the failure points. The tines and main stick are both metal. I'm about 6' and it's plenty tall for me to use comfortably on the tallest setting, but you could also make it about 5 inches shorter with it's adjustable height. I've pulled plenty of weeds by hand, which takes forever and you usually end up breaking off the root so they come back. With this I've had great luck pulling out the weeds effortlessly and getting their roots. I attached a picture of one of them which the root was may be 10+ inches. Really would recommend this even if you only plan to use it a few times a year. The cost , value, and time savings with it is definitely worth it.

We were going to buy the Fiskar branded Weed Popper but this one looked like a copycat design. China is good at copying other manufacturers. So it arrived, simple assembly, simple to use. Here in Oregon, we get lots of rains so right now, the ground is soft. The strip of barkdusted area in front of my Neighbor's House was covered with Weeds. He is 84 years old and can't do much yard maintenance. The strip of barkdusted area is about 4 feet wide and 70 feet long. I weeded the whole thing in around 40 minutes. My Back was broken 5 years ago and I cannot bent over, even to put on my Shoes. So this Tool is amazing. I suppose the plastic fulcrum could break if the soil was rock hard and you forced it hard? The Weed comes out with a fair amount of dirt too but it wasn't really and issue for me. I am going to order 2 more of these for my two Brothers. Great tool, great deal!

This item broke after only a couple of uses. It needs a slight redesign. The metal jaws are held in by metal pins which double as fulcrums for their lever-action. The jaw towards the back is fixed into the handle and that pin passes through it and the footpiece/lever. This is the point that sees the greatest stress when you are prying a weed out of the ground. That pin is too short and only passes through two plastic lugs, which stick out from the vertical main body/sidewalls of the footpiece/lever. One of those plastic lugs shattered. If that pin were lengthened to pass through the full width of the footpiece/lever, instead of just the lugs, this tool would be less prone to breaking and would be a much more long-lived tool. When I get the replacement, I am going to drill that pin's hole out to the same diameter as the pin and replace the pin with a longer one or with a shoulder bolt of the same diameter through the entire footpiece/lever and secure it loosely with a nyloc nut. The picture shows the broken lug and I've set the pin on top to show it could be longer to transfer the force into the sidewalls of the footpiece, instead of putting all the stress on the lugs. With a slight redesign this will be a 5-star tool. Works great while it works.

This is an amazing tool for cleaning weeds in my yard. I’ve been using it for about five months and haven’t had any issues. The adjustable handle makes it easy to work with, and it’s still holding up perfectly. Highly recommend!

Just got in a few minutes ago. The instructions were very easy to follow. It takes no tools to put it together. It seems very well engineered. I’ll let you know how it works later. I probably pulled a couple hundred weeds before it failed. One of the prongs became loose in a way that prevented its proper operation. I found it extremely difficult to take apart so that it could be shipped back. My guess is that they were probably designed for three or four hundred uses and for most homes that would give it a life span of several years. My yard would probably be considered a Dandelion Farm. My guess is that I may have several thousand of them in my yard. I purchased a "My Grandpa's" tool and I've used it in fairly moist soil so far. I got a replacement for my first wilfiks and my opinion is that I would prefer purchasing several of the WilFiks's rather than having one of the "My Grandpa's" tool. The wilfiks has four taper blades that move toward the center as you pull it out and I get a lot more of the root than I have ever gotten with MY Grandpas tool. If your shooting for all of the root all of the time you need to seek divine intervention in my opinion.
