Perfect Fit 2008 Silverado 1500 Front Diff - Buy this one
Perfect replacement and genuine GM fill plug for front differential on a 2008 Silverado 1500. Mine was so stuck I had to use liquid wrench on it for a week, then use the 1/2" air impact wrench with 18mm socket and 3" extension to finally get the old one off. Transferred the o-ring and used anti-seize compound on the threads and lip that touches the case.

Worked in my 2006 Trailblazer SS front Diff
The original one like all of them rounded off the head. This fit. Does not come with O-Ring which is really dumb.

Correct fill plug must use old O ring.
No O ring supplied with new fill plug. Not a problem used old seal. Just make sure you yransger the old seal to the new fill plug

Great replacement plug, stupid design by GM.
I love it and hate it at the same time. My old plug rounded because of the stupid design by the GM engineers. They put a huge pipe thread plug which is about 2 inches and stick a small 18mm bolt head on the end. It ended up taking torches and welding a new nut to get the old one off.Now as far as the replacement it's fine. OEM equipment and no issues and fixed my factory problem plug. Make sure to use anti seize on the threads when replacing.

it plugged as advertised
Fit perfectly. If you're looking at this page, it's because you need a new plug. Stop thinking about it and just buy it. My only gripe is it doesn't come with a gasket. You have to remove the gasket from the old plug and put it on this one.

Genuine gm plug
Need to swap over o-ring from old plug or get a new one. Great replacement, used air hammer to tap old plug out, a lot easier than welding a nut on.

Wrong part for a Canadian built truck
Doesn't fit

Would buy again.
Fit like a charm. Wish it was a different material since these will corrode and seize onto the differential housing. Good luck!
