This is an updated review. If you are new to chainsaws, please be aware that you will need to sharpen the cutting teeth often. This chainsaw is plenty powerful for its size and worked perfectly but I was not expecting to have to sharpen the teeth almost every second cut but that was down to the rough and extremely tough timber I was cutting. Please keep this in mind when using and keep the saw clean. Any dirty and especially soil will almost instantly blunt the blades. Didnt know this and found out the hard way. Once again a good saw but be aware of chainsaw limitations.

Was somewhat sceptical given I had previously owned a petrol chainsaw but this did everything that did. It cuts through most medium sized trunks with ease and has proven a valuable workmate

This product was sent to me for review as part of the Amazon Vine program. The following reflects my real-world experience using it. My first impression was that it appeared to be a good-quality tool with a robust and sleek build. The cable has a fairly decent length, but you might want to consider using an extension lead if you don't have outdoor sockets (I don't, so this was a slight issue for me). If I'm being completely honest, I've never owned or used a chainsaw before, however, there are some jobs around my house for which I would find it useful, so I requested it. My review will therefore be coming from a very novice angle. I was a little perplexed to discover that no chain oil comes in the box, so you would need to purchase some before you could even get started. Once that's out of the way, the assembly instructions are clear and easy to follow, meaning that it doesn't take too much effort to put together. Because I wanted to 'start small', I opted to use the saw to cut up some old pieces of broken furniture that I needed to dispose of (it would make them easier to transport). The Dovaman made quick work of them, while reassuring me that there was a safety cut-out (I'm not very confident using such tools - the chain brake is ideal). It was a little bit noisy to use; you could wear ear defenders if that's an issue. In summary, it is a good value item that I am looking forward to using on more DIY projects.

Building the tool was straightforward. Very impressed with the quality. Safety feature is great. We managed to cut down our apple tree with ease. Recommend this product, so glad we bought this as we have other projects lined up! You will need to buy some chainsaw oil before use. Happy to recommend this item!

I bought this but when I plug it it was not working at all so I send it back and will buy a branded one directly

Getting this tool ready for action was surprisingly straightforward; in fact, I found it to be the easiest chainsaw I've ever assembled, which is a huge plus for anyone eager to get to work without fuss. A very convenient design aspect is the built-in knob for tensioning the chain. This thoughtful feature makes chain adjustments incredibly quick and tool-free, ensuring optimal cutting performance and safety with minimal effort. It's important to prepare for its first use, however, as like many chainsaws, this unit requires oil to keep the chain properly lubricated, and a bottle of chainsaw oil is not included in the package. Be sure to purchase proper chain oil separately to ensure optimal chain longevity and smooth operation. The inclusion of two chains in the box is a welcome bonus, providing a spare for when the primary chain eventually dulls or needs replacing. In operation, the chainsaw is quite loud, as is to be expected from a powerful cutting machine. Therefore, ear protection is definitely recommended for any extended periods of use to safeguard your hearing. One minor but noteworthy observation was the colour of the power cable. While most electric garden tools feature brightly coloured cables designed to stand out against foliage and debris for enhanced visibility and safety, this chainsaw comes with a black one. This could potentially make it less visible against the ground or in bushy areas, increasing the risk of accidental cutting. That said, as the chainsaw itself has a much shorter cable that connects to the black supplied extension lead, it's a simple matter to purchase a brighter-coloured extension cable separately if this is a concern for your specific working environment, offering a practical workaround. I don’t think it needs mentioning, but of course, a common characteristic of corded electric chainsaws is the limitation in mobility compared to petrol-powered alternatives, which offer complete freedom of movement. However, for typical home garden use, such as pruning branches or cutting firewood within reach of a power outlet, this is generally not an issue. It provides consistent, reliable power without the hassle of fuel mixing, engine maintenance, or battery charging. Overall, this chainsaw offers a robust, user-friendly, and powerful experience for a variety of home garden tasks, proving to be a reliable addition to any home DIY or gardening toolkit.

The saw seems really well made the first thing I noticed is that though like most things nowadays plastic features a lot in the build of things the plastics on this feel good quality. For example the main handle feels to be made from a high density material that is reassuringly strong. Another point in its favour is the Oregan bar and chains that it comes with, Oregan is a well known brand in power tools. The motor is certainly powerful enough at 2400W it barely notices your cutting smaller branches and it should have no problem with thicker wood. The blade tightening mechanism took a little figuring out but I got there. The oil tank has an easy to read level window and holds plenty for a days work. The anti kick back works well applying the blade brake and cutting the motor instantaneously. The lead supplied is a good quality with a tough sheath and it has a water resistant socket with a cover when not in use, the socket is located near the saw so it can be unplugged easily for maintenance/safety. The mains lead is also 6m long so enough to let you manoeuvre around with having to move extensions etc.. There is a spare Oregon blade provided and a blade cover to keep the blade safe when the saw is not in use.

Excellente machine remarquablement efficace dans sa coupe pour mes branches d'arbre, voire même des troncs de 25 cm de diamètre, qu'il faut préalablement dégager de la terre qui les entoure, pour ne pas endommager la lame ! Prix extrêmement intéressant!
