Casio Does It Again
The MTP4500D-1AV is a ridiculously underrated watch - as a Casio, you can expect it to provide tons of value for a remarkably low price, and it really delivers on this. It keeps time sufficiently, and it includes a chronograph complication that's certainly nice to have, though it won't time milliseconds or anything, only hours/minutes/seconds. In addition, it boasts a slide rule bezel, a real rarity at its price point. Its slide rule bezel allows multiplication and division problems to be estimated quickly and efficiently. If you're looking for a watch with a slide rule and you don't want this one, the Citizen Nighthawk, Seiko Flightmaster, and Breitling Navitimer are all options, if you're willing to pay for them. Visually, the watch is pretty neat looking. The face is definitely very busy with the chronograph dials and slide rule, which is great if you're looking for an aviator watch, but not so much for minimalist Bauhaus styles. It can also be a little difficult to read at times, as the crystal is pretty reflective, but it's pretty easy to get used to it. As for the band, it works, but you might want to consider replacing it with a leather band or a different metal bracelet. Ultimately, the MTP4500D-1AV is a fine watch. It's timekeeping abilities are solid, and its slide rule bezel makes it a wonderful piece. At its price point, it's really hard to complain about any of its flaws - I don't think there's anything in its weight class that can compare to it.

Great watch.
Got this on sale for about $55 and I think it punches way above its weight. Other people complained about the slide rule inner bezel being misaligned but mine came in the correct spot so it doesn't seem like a widespread issue. The chronograph works well and on reset the second hand sweeps around back to the start. It's quite fun to watch. The pushers are easy to use and the crown won't easily be pulled out by accident. The lume glows very bright and makes it easy to read if it suddenly gets dark. The black and orange looks clean but I was not the biggest fan of the metal bracelet. I replaced it with a black and gray nato strap. For those wondering, the size of the strap is 22mm. I ordered a 23 at first and it's slightly too big. I really like the look of the concentric rings on the dial. I've gotten a couple compliments on it already. Great watch especially for the price. It's hard to find a good chronograph for under $100 but this one is great.

Beautiful well made and tough
Really nice looking watch and inexpensive. Keeps perfect time and is easy to read. It was a gift for a friend who is really hard on watches and it’s tough.

Nice watch but fails in a couple of aspects.
This is a nice looking watch and seems reliable and accurate so far. The 42mm case is not too bulky and looks good. The band was easy to adjust using a paperclip. Two downsides that prevent a 5-star rating: (1) the slide rule is pretty much useless, because it is way too small to read - even in bright light; it's nothing more than a nice decoration. Not to mention, there were no instructions on how to use it. (2) There is very low contrast between the hands (silver) and all of the clutter on the main dial (the sub dials, the little subdial hands, the brand name, all of which are in silver or white, plus glare off of the flat crystal) as a result it's frequently impossible to tell what time it is without taking your eyes off the road for too long. I'm keeping this but if I was doing it again I'd get something else.

Excellent quality affordable Casio Watch.
I'm a watch collector and a big Casio collector and this is easily one of my favorite watches. It has that classic Speedmaster look to it, it wears very comfortable, is a very handsome watch and keeps excellent time for what it costs. I've had the watch for about 8 months now and I average a time variance of about +/- three seconds a month. That is phenomenal for any watch, much less one that costs under $60 dollars. They might not all have that level of time precision, but the overall quality of this watch is amazing for the price range. Some other reviews have complained about the bracelet and it is relatively cheaply made (see total price below $60), but for what it is, it is a very nice band and complements the watch perfectly. I did have some issues resizing it, as the push pins holding the links together are very cheap and jam easily. Other than that, it's a pretty solid band. I highly recommend keeping it on the watch, as it ties the whole piece together nicely and is a very comfortable band. If you are a Casio collector, watch enthusiast, fan of the Speedmaster style, or just want an affordable quality watch, you cannot go wrong with this Casio. Even though it is fractions cheaper than many other watches I own, I go back to this watch frequently as it is super comfortable, looks like a much more expensive watch than it is and keeps excellent time. Pros: -Overall build quality -Case and band polishing is excellent for this price range and makes the watch look much more expensive than it is -Very comfortable watch to wear with the included band -Very attractive watch -Fully-functional slide rule crown, which is also attractive -Excellent timekeeping Cons: -Watch design lends the chronograph hands hard to read, also text on the watch face and slide rule crown is very small -Case back is overly simplistic -No illumination and the lume on the hands and indices is so light, that it is basically unusable as a practical lume

Impressive watch. Solid bracelet.
Hard to beat the value—certainly with a functioning sliderule bezel. About that bezel, yes, the numbers are tiny. The sides of the inner bezel are steep, which makes it difficult to read the markings looking straight down on the face of the watch. But they are perfectly legible if you hold the watch at more of an angle and if your prescription eyewear is up to date. The watch is not as big as it appears in photos, which makes it perfect for smaller wrists like mine. (The Casio Edifice is 3.5 mm larger.) If you do happen to have a larger wrist, the bracelet comes with a ridiculous number of extra links, so you should be good. Speaking of the bracelet, I am not sure why there are so many reviews complaining about it being flimsy or rolled metal, unless Casio upgraded it recently. The bracelet I received is not rolled or stamped, it is solid (see photo). And like most Casio metal bracelets, it is beautifully integrated into the case of the watch with a custom link that receives the pin. Before I saw the watch in person, I intended to replace the metal bracelet with a black leather band. I may still do that, because I think the black leather would actually dress it up and be a great look paired with the black dial. But make no mistake, this is a nice bracelet. Mechanically, the stopwatch button is stiff and makes a disconcerting click when you press it. But this may well be a feature instead of a bug, because it functions perfectly. The bezel rotates beautifully—not too tight, not too loose. It almost feels fluid-dampened. Overall, if you’re on a budget and looking for an everyday timepiece with some impressive not-so-everyday complications, this may be your jam.

Classy watch, especially for the money!
I absolutely love the value of Casio watches and believe everyone should own at least one...or a dozen. The Casio Slide Rule Chronograph is no exception and offers a lot of class at an affordable price. THE GOOD: It looks stylish with excellent contrast in the design and color scheme. The orange second hands and bezel accents are a lovely addition. The chronograph functions flawlessly, and the added "click" when pressing the pushers is a nice touch and serves as confirmation that the buttons were properly engaged. The hour and minute indices around the face are easily-readable, which should be an imperative consideration in any watch. Oh, and it will garner compliments from friends, strangers, and pesky insurance salesmen trying to butter you up. I have not submitted it to aquatic use yet, so I cannot comment on its water resistance. Though, this watch will probably not be one I grab for fishing or other water-related activities. THE BAD: The bracelet. As numerous other commenters have shared, the bracelet feels cheaper than Dollar Tree flip-flops. It functions for its intended purpose and is nice to have when you want to go for that look. However, I replaced mine with black-and-pumpkin silicone band from Barton, which pairs beautifully with the existing color scheme (pictured). Leather bands also look excellent on it. As other commenters have shared, if you are looking to actually USE the slide rule functionality for actual, real-world calculations, you may be out of luck. The slide rule indices inside the rim of the crystal are incredibly tiny, very hard to read in anything but good lighting, and are positioned at such an angle as to make them nearly impossible to read in general. So, if you're buying this for the purpose of on-the-go mathematics, best to keep looking (perhaps towards the Casio Edifice line). Overall, though, I am very pleased with the watch and happy with the purchase. If you are wanting a stylish chronograph watch that is reliable and won't break the bank, I highly suggest you purchase it.

Watch detailed review
The slide rule on this watch is off. Not a lot, and definitely not worth fussing over but I thought I'd put it on. The finish is beautiful with a high polished and satin bracelet. It's polished center links brushed sides. Lug to lug is 22mm. Chronograph works, but the minute hand doesn't tick at exactly 60 seconds. It's early by like 10 seconds. The inner slide rule bezel is angled a little more than id like, making it hard to read. All those things, for the price, id say is still superb. The quality of the material itself is great. Lumes are evenly put on. My biggest peeve about this watch is their conversion on the slide rule. It's not correct. I've tried all kinds of methods to see how they got their conversions, but I can't get it right. I have 2 other watches with slide rule and I've handled many others. All are made the same and more expensive ones are just more 'precise'. But this conversion is completely off. Still great for estimation on % and dividing a check easily though. Knocked off a star for that. All in all, this watch is a great buy. Looks nice, especially if you like smaller Watch sizes. Definitely not too bulky in case. Good weight in the materials. And for me, a perfect everyday beater watch. I will edit my review if I notice anything else when I open it up for battery/maintenance.
