We got our dog from the shelter. He has a difficult past and is high anxiety. Whenhe is relaxed, our dog is the smartest pup you can imagine, easily learning newtricks and commands. He is a truly outstanding dog and would probably have beentrained as a working dog, if his start in life had been different.As it is, most of the time he is suffering from anxiety, which can be triggered bythe most random noise or occurrence. For example, the sound of the vacuum cleaner(which is not that uncommon), or the phone or even the coffee machine or the fan.And I'm not even going to mention the door bell, which would send him into such astate of anxiety that he would stop listening and responding and would just breatheheavily, bark incessantly and run around like crazy. When in this state, there is nocalming him or having him follow commands. He's in a different world.We have looked for help in many places over the years, including dog trainers andvets to help him overcome his dog anxiety, but a few months ago the problem seemedto be getting worse. We feel that we tried Nutrition Strength's calming tablets outof desperation, but they do seem to be working. We have been giving him 2 tabletsdaily (as the label says we should for our dog's weight).Yesterday we had a thunderstorm, which in the past would have triggered his anxiety,but this time he went to his bed and lay there. He was breathing heavily, but wasclearly more relaxed than he would have been in the past. I've been thinking ofgiving him an extra tablet, just to be on the safe side, but at the end I decidedagainst it and instead relied on the recommended dosage.There does not seem to be any adverse effect. For example, there is no sleepiness,at any rate he does not sleep more than he used to, just seems more relaxed andresponsive. I will be monitoring his progress and hope to find out how I can usethese tablets to help retrain him.Finally, I've had no issues with getting him to take these tablets.

The media could not be loaded.  I've tried many different brands of anti anxiety meds for our dogs and these truly work! Our large (about 75 lbs) Plott/Black & Tan hound is the jumpiest dog I've ever seen. He is afraid of just about everything! Getting his nails trimmed at the vet was so difficult it took him wearing a muzzle while my husband and I held him down while the vet cut his nails. He growled and snapped at her and even she jumped back several times and she's been a vet for like 40+ years. After I purchased these, I gave him two about a half hour before we left then one right before we left. He was much more relaxed and despite him not liking it, my husband was able to hold him by himself and he just warning growled, no snapping. I couldn't believe the difference they made! He's also terrified of fireworks and storms so we give him a couple when we know there will be fireworks or a storm is coming and it helps so much! Expensive but worth it, at least for us. Update: Since writing this review I tried several other brands but they do not work as well at all. And most of the other brands have hemp in them which actually gives our smaller dog anxiety. So we will be sticking with these.

My dog is terrified of storms, fireworks and just about anything else that makes loud and sudden noises. I've tested a couple of other anxiety meds for dogs, however these seem to work so much better! When I see a storm approaching, I'll give my dog a couple of these tablets about 30 minutes in advance, and he laps them up. Now I haven't tried them myself, but I can only conclude that they must be tasty. Then once the thunderstorm starts rolling in, there are no shakes, no whimpering, and no running to hide in a corner.I still cuddle with my dog during the noises, but it's now more a matter of spending quality time with him rather than trying to calm him down. I don't see how I could recommend this product strongly enough. It's plainly the best!

I give them to my dog first thing in the morning, as she is still a puppy and will jump all over you without hearing anything you say or do. Now I can make her sit on her bed as I give these pills to her and then go get her 30 minutes later for a walk. They do not make her sleepy, just a bit more mellow.

GAVE TO MY DOG WHO IS HIGH STRUNG AND IT DID NOT HELP HIM AT ALL.

I had high hopes for this product. I tried basically everything else for my extremely anxious dog. These have absolutely no effect on her. Zero! Very disappointed for that price

I can only say positive things about these dog anxiety tablets. I have a 9-year-old pug who has a separation anxiety and becomes excessively excited around people. I hired at one time a dog sitter to stay with him for a few hours a day while I'm at work, however he would still be panting and have red paws from licking them when I came back and would drool all over the place.I have tried other types of calming treats for dogs which were supposed to help him, but had no luck with them. These tablets, however, were a game changer. I had family visiting us and about an hour before they arrived, I gave my dog a calming tablet. I intended to leave him at home while we went out for a walk in the city, but my brother wanted to take him with us. I agreed, even though I didn't think it was a good idea. However, I could not believe my eyes when with children and other dogs everywhere around us, my dog didn't get overly excited. He was perfectly well behaved the whole day. He would even allow kids to pet him, without jumping or otherwise objecting. He remained next to me throughout and behaved. When other dogs approached him, he was very friendly with them. When we all got back home, he immediately went to sleep.All in all, it feels as though I have a whole new dog. Furthermore, since I started using these dog anxiety tablets, he's been behaving perfectly well when I'm not home. I fully recommend this product.

These were bought for anxiety not only do they stink , my dog would only take if put with peanut butter. Did nothing for her otherwise.
