Good book, cover doesn't convey contents.
Okay, my wife says this is really a really good book (she was a special ed teacher for 41 years, so she should know). She compliments the delivery style, bright colors, and numerous links and references. She says it's very age-appropriate for our 7 year old grandson.Personally, I was disappointed that it didn't have a bunch of illustrations of how to create different shadow figures with your hands (kind of like what's shown on the cover). Maybe the author will do that the next time around. That's just me being a visual shopper, I guess.

Good teaching tool
I got this book to support science teaching about light. It's a good book that covers the basics for Year 3 in a logical order suitable for planning. Some experiments are suggested to enhance learning. I would have liked a bit more detail, particularly on shadow size/direction though. Overall an easy book for the target age group to understand.

Students love it
Added this book to our content library, and the kids are always choosing it to make shadow puppets.

I was hesitant to buy this book without getting to look inside first, but it turned out to be an excellent purchase. I read it to my 3- and 4-year-old daughters, stopping to do the activities suggested, such as making shadow puppets and looking at our reflections in spoons. There was no need for any preparation. The book is written in a clear, simple style, and I appreciated that it didn't have a textbook tone.

Good book, received damaged
Great book but I received it with water damage that went all the way through the book. Not to sure what happened there
