Great seat but my first didn't last forever
I'm still going to rate it 5 stars, as I think it is a great seat, especially that pushbutton insert/remove feature. This is my second as the first one finally failed. The seat was still soft close, but the lid wasn't and letting go of the two together was too much to close softly and it would go down with a bang. Most unsettling after years of softness! It lasted over 3 years and although I'd like to have seen 5-10, I'm not overly upset as the cost per year is nothing to worry about. So I ordered another and was expecting a quick 10 second swap over. Not so. The fitting has changed, specifically the diameter of the metal posts that stick up from the bowl and click into the holes on the underside of the seat. They're now about half the size they were before. It still only took a few minutes to get a screwdriver and swap the mounting on the bowl, only needing to change the plastic part with the posts on it. The threaded inserts and bolts were still the same. Good value for money as far as I'm concerned. It would be nice if you could dismantle the hinge and perhaps repair a failed soft close, but not the case sadly. It's either keep it as a hard slam model, or throw it away. Still happy to buy again, and award 5 stars though. I couldn't find anything better.

Value for money!
Had this toilet seat for over a year and it is still steady, no issues. We have a lively household with 5 kids that seem to break toilet seats regular, and this one has stood the test of time. I'm actually really impressed with the quality of this seat, I bought a similar one from b and q and it lasted all of 4 months on my other toilet. So it's safe to say if you want a toilet seat that lasts i would definitely recommend this one. It's definitely worth the extra money, doesn't come loose (so long as you fit it right) Fittings are really good and good quality, bit fiddly to put together but once you get to grips with how it works it's a doddle.

Pretty bog standard toilet seat - Fits well but metal starting to rust
I moved into a new property and had to get a soft close seat ASAP, as my partner doesn't understand the effect of gravity on a falling seat. It was starting to make me unhinged, just like the old seat. I purchased this back in October 2023. It was easy to install and took about 5 minutes to get the fit just right. Update after 5 months of solid use later... Initially, I thought it felt a bit cheap but after sitting on it for a few months I can say that it performs its job admirably. Occasionally, it makes some squeaky noises but I'm sure some lubricant will sort that out. Plus, the seat hasn't moved much, if at all, since installation. There are only two downsides that come to mind: 1. There's a small lip between the lid and the seat, near the brackets. Lint and dust collect there and it's hard to keep clean. I've found that a cotton bud does the job or if you're bothered/anal you can take the seat off with the grey button and give it a proper clean. 2. The metal cover/trim for the bracket fixings has started to rust after 4 or so months (see pics). I've tried keeping it dry but it just seems like thin and cheap metal and rust is inevitable.

Impressed with overall quality
First impression was that it is very heavy (In a good way) Good clear instructions and two fitting options. Fitting took about 5 minutes and pleased to find it was a perfect fit. Lid stays up but the seat will if you persevere. Probably not a bad thing as prevents the "man thing" of leaving the seat up. Excellent that it can be remove at the click of a button for efficient cleaning of the toilet. Only negative would be the shiny trim that fits over the fittings. Seems a bit thin and cheap. Time will tell how good it is.

Top notch Toilet Seat
After doing some research, I decided on the Benkstein toilet seat from Amazon. Super strong seat with an excellent soft close mechanism, very easy to install and to keep clean and above all it looks a premium seat. The seat does not move or slide around thanks to the fixtures which were supplied with the product. Best price on Amazon for a lovely and robust seat which should last well. Seat arrived well packed and was delivered within two days of ordering. Can highly recommend this seat at such a competitive Amazon price. This is a genuine review.

Soft close toilet seat and lid, well made
Bought this after reading reviews. If I didn't have a 30 year old toilet then this would have been even easier to fit as it comes with inserts that you place in to the holes for securing the seat on the toilet basis and the fixing bolts gone in from the top. The holes on my Ideal Standard toilet are too small. It does come with more traditional fixings that lock below the holes in the bowl. Once fitted the seat feels secure and the soft-close works well. The seat and lid lift off with the press of a button for easy cleaning. Well made and good value.

Soft close stopped working
I was very pleased with this product initially, it appeared to be good quality. Unfortunately after only 2 years of light use the soft close mechanism has stopped working and there appears to be no way to fix as with some other toilet seats and I will have to replace unless the seller can advise if a fix is possible.

OK seat, but fittings differ from those illustrated
This seat is of reasonable weight and quality and fitted easily, once I had overcome one detail. Neither of the fixing bolts fit the holes in a standard Armitage Shanks bowl. The illustration the vendor used shows an expanding rubber fitting which I thought would be suitable, however in the version I received, this had been substituted with a metal captive-nut fitting which could not be inserted through the bowl's fitting holes. Neither could the white plastic expanding bolt which was made of a very hard material that I could not grind down to size with only the hand tools available to me at the time of fitting. Instead I improvised an expanding bolt with some polypropylene tubing (it's a hospital, plenty of that on hand). So, if you have Armitage Shanks bowls, be ready to take care to extract and reuse the old bolts or source/improvise new ones.
