These appear very small....3/4 by 1/2 inch but it's possible to spread the brushes apart so they can be expanded to 1+ inch by 3/4 inch. I have to brush my husband's teeth because of his mental capacity so this brush is workable for me. The smaller size allows me to brush his teeth without shoving a toothbrush too far into his mouth. The bristles are soft and pliable thereby causing less pain or irritation.
