It went on pretty easily. There is a preexisting hole in the hinge that the bolt goes through. there isn't a lot of space on the other side to hold the nut. I ended up holding it with a pair of needle-nose vice grips.You will also need a deep-well5/8" socket to tighten the PL-259 side of the mount. There is no way you will get a wrench onto the hole after you mount it. If you don't have a deep-well 5/8", you can try putting the antenna mount on before installing the bracket. I didn't try that, so I can't say if it will work that way.As far as the bracket, it is well made and quite solid feeling.

Pretty pricey. I found it half the price at a local auto store.

The bolt is just a smidge too long. Over time it puta dent in the side panel and tore up the paint. I know have a nice rust spot on the vehicle where it rubbed it. Also after two years the bolt broke off

Have to drill out a little for SO 239 fitment. Kind of expensive, that's why only a 3 star rating. But it is easy to install and does what it claims to do. All boils down to whether or not you want to spend the time fabricating one for yourself. I chose not to, so I ate the cost.

Works great and very sturdy holding my Firestik 2 on my 08 FJ. Sanded down the coating where it needed to make contact for the antenna. Would buy again.

Threaded screw too short to properly engage the nut. Will have to drill out the screw and place a longer one. Cannot mount if you do not have access to a drill.
