The Lady with the Alligator Purse

This is an old jump-rope skipping rhyme, that likely has somewhat disreputable origins, but I talked up the fact that Susan B. Anthony carried an alligator purse with my 3-year old granddaughter Lucy who was not asking any questions about how "Miss Lucy" could have a baby.

A great board book. It's a fun little rhyme that keeps tots attention. Actually had one, along with my own alligator purse, but it was worn out from my kids a grandkids so I bought this for my greatgrands.

Read it to my kids again and again, and now I’m buying copies for my grandchildren. Such a fun and endearing story. Cute illustrations, and sing-song-y rhythm to the words. It’s a quick read, that leaves us all smiling!

Preschoolers love this book! Quick read for transitions.

Brought back many memories! Book is a fun learning book ! I read it once and my first grader is reading it!

My children love this book

Have been reading this book to the toddlers in my life for years. I can read it for hours (of-course I sing it) they just keep saying again.

I was hoping for the book to have the same cover as pictured (the cover mine had growing up). It had a different front cover, it wasn't the end of the world but I went with this particular one because I liked the cover and ended up with the one with the cover i disliked.The book itself seemed to be in good condition and I hope it brings a little kid happiness and fun memories.

Love this children's classic and appreciate the unchanged print version that I remember when I was a kid.My son loves the sing-song quality of the words and the humorous ending. Very happy to add to our growing book collection!
