What a Marvelous Tool!
It arrived incredibly sharp and I was able to catch up on my (overgrown) trimming amazingly fast. I have a quarter mile walking trail and I trimmed that too and this lightweight thing is still sharp enough to cut some big stuff at the edge of my yard ( I live in a wooded area). The 2 foot handle makes it easy to reach back under trees and brush to clear the undergrowth. It has lost some of its edge, so I ordered some whetstones, and as soon as I learn how to sharpen it without damaging the blade, I'm going to order another. I'm probably putting it through more stress than it was meant to endure, so if it breaks, I want to have a backup on hand.I can't say enough good things about this little tool. No more weed eaters for me!

AWESOME BLADE!
This is a little heavier and is a stainless steel blade so it makes the swing mean it with my tall weeds! I have five acres and find it hard to get to all of them every week so things get very tall. NOT ANYMORE! I am 5'5" tall and this is a perfect length handle for me. I carry a whetstone but on the first day of using it, I didn't need to use it. Often the tools I buy take a beating from surprise rocks in the path of my swing. This blade hasn't been tested that way but it is excellent at Japanese Knotweed that has thick stems when it is old. Japanese barberry is no match. LOVE THIS TOOL!

Great sickle
I really like this sickle. It's perfect for cutting grass near fragile wood posts that would be gouged by my weed whacker.I have two complaints:1. The sickle arrived bent because the manufacturers just put a cardboard sleeve on the blade and called it a day instead of shipping it in a complete box. Bending it back into shape I'm sure has affected my cutting angle.2. The handle is made of soft, unfinished wood. Because of that, I will have to replace it in the future with a more durable handle. Even dipping it in mineral oil won't keep it protected over time with repeated use.If more time had been put into shipping, and the quality was better, I would have given this a five star rating.

Nice tool.
Nice tool. Fiskar scissor for size reference. I use it to cut grasses by the chain link fence because I do not have a weed whacker. The wood handle is smooth, you won't get splinters.Do not use on branches, it requires some strength and you can slip up and cut yourself. It can also dull the blade. It comes with a plastic sleeve for the blade when not in use.It is made in Japan.

Good steel, cheap handle, questionable QC
Blade is good quality stainless steel holds edge well. Handle breaks easily but as light a it is i was probably using it a little heavy handed. Came bent at an angle which worked for me because i am taller but after seeing other reviews seems like it is actually a manufacturing defect and for the price i would expect a little more quality control.

Great gardener loves it
I bought this as a gift for mother-in-law. She is a serious gardener and said she wanted to get a new "kama" with a longer handle. I found this on Amazon and she says its great. It is made in Japan and does seem very sturdy. She was also made in Japan and has high standards for her gardening gear.

Handle quickly broke
First time I took it out for serious use and the handle broke at the rivets while cutting tall grass. The rivet holes through the wood are a weak point and will break with any serious swing.

I only wished I had bought sooner.
I love this thing! I only wished I had bought sooner.I have used this for grass to then chop up for chickens, but mainly for brush, all kinds up to saplings 1/2 thick to feed my goats. This makes collecting brush for my animals a breeze. I haven't needed to sharpen it this season, but suspect I will for next year.
