Incredibly happy!!
I was horrified when these plants arrived, mostly unprotected, in a Manila envelope. They were all around 4” high and all but one looked healthy. I think one was damaged in shipping - it appeared crushed. I immediately planted them in 4” pots. It took about 3-4 months before they needed repotted and currently (7 months later) they’re in their 3rd pots. The “smooshed” plant did die, but the other three are now 5-6’ tall! They’re BEAUTIFUL! They remain disease and pest free (I have them on our patio) and they’re thriving. I’ve lived in SC now for 4 years (zone 8a), and these banana plants are the only outdoor plants I’ve managed to keep alive. There are no shady spots in my yard and we get months of scorching sun. The plants I received were healthy, hearty, and have done wonderfully - despite the heat. I don’t even mind that one died because I also bought a 4-pk of ice cream bananas and one of those plants ALREADY produced a sword sucker I was able to remove and repot. I bought 8 plants and, 7 months later, I’ve still got 8 plants. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. Should I ever get bananas I’ll update my review.

Healthy and Vigorous Plants
The item arrived intact and healthy, the plants were about 8” tall and well rooted. I even got a bonus plant, two trees in one little pot. I started all of my other bananas in 4”pots before transplanting to a one gallon. They outgrew the 4” pots in about a month. I have purchased nearly all of the banana varieties available from Hello Organics and all are thriving. Please start doing additional varieties, looking for Red Cuban Bananas next!

Wrong plants were sent, and terrible customer service
In mid June, I ordered 4 Musa Acuminata starter plants from this seller and, after an entire month of delays, they had the audacity to send the wrong plants. I assumed I had the Grand Nain musa’s, and was throughly looking forward to growing them into maturity. After a few weeks they started to develop red splotches all over the leaves, and I came to the conclusion these marks were just naturally occurring variegation that happens in many many different plants especially tropical species, and not disease. I just figured this type of banana grew as such, and didn’t remember how they looked ok the listing they looked healthy so I didn’t bother to look. After about a month, the variegation was becoming extreme and very much unlike the plants that I remember buying. Finally I come back to this listing and realize I have the wrong plants entirely. I’ve determined I have 4 Musa Zebrinas and not Musa acuminatas. I bought Musa acuminatas because of their massive size of trees and beautiful leaves, and these bananas I was sent will never grow very big (apparently they top out at 5 feet) and that’s rather disappointing. I’ve contacted the sellers and no response, and it appears many others have had similar scenarios.

banana plants
My banana plants arrived today, they are small, but very healthy looking, i have planted them, watered them, i am very pleased with the plants, now if they grow and produce bananas that will depend on how well I take care of them, very pleased with the condition of the plants and they arrived on time.

The banana tree that could
Photo with 2 plants: This little tree is a survivor! First I planted them and had them in full sun. Not a good idea. I ended up putting something to block sunlight most of the time. But I thought it was too late for this one. It was just a brown limp leaf. It was surely dead. I left it. A week later it had a green lead popping up. I was shocked. It grew and grew. We recently had a hurricane. It got knocked over to its side and pulled from its roots. I thought for sure it died this time. I waited. And look what happened. The main tree did die. But it grew 2 little new ones to replace it! Wow, talk about a hardy tree. I'll have to remove one soon. But wow. These are tough trees! My other 2 trees which were bigger did fine except the leaves got shredded. View second photo. Theres new leaves growing. The undamaged ones. It was not phased by the hurricane stress or damage. It keeps on growing.

Great seller, must read details in review
The plants arrived and were in good shape. These were smaller than other banana plants that I've bought from this seller but they are still growing! People need to understand, any plant that is wrapped up and shipped in a box is not going to arrive in 'thriving' condition.....it's stressed and in marginal condition. You need to transplant immediately and NOT over-water it or over-fertilize it. Because the root system isn't entirely established and has likely been disturbed while transplanting, the uptake of water and nutrients will be compromised as the plant goes from distressed towards healthy. If someone knows what they are doing and uses common sense, these plants can easily be transplanted into larger containers and successfully grown. Do not place in direct and intense sun too quickly, do not be afraid to cut-off leaves that are in poor shape or wilting, it'll help stimulate growth. All my plants have been transplanted and are showing signs of growth.....from this point they'll just continue to grow! If you see poor reviews, mostly likely the people didn't know what they were doing!
