Purchased a dash cam that was not suction cup compatible, it only came with 3M sticky tape which I didn’t want to use due to that option not allowing an easy take down option (especially in high heat conditions that can damage the camera). So I purchased this and just stuck the 3M sticky tape to the flat panel, then just use it as if it had the suction cup. Now I can attach and remove my camera seamlessly. To be honest, I don’t though, ever since I put it up it just stays on my windshield. However, if and when I do take it down, I don’t need to worry about a dirty, sticky left over residue from the 3M tape.

Excellent for a dashcam mount that needs to be moved between different vehicles, such as with rental cars. I stuck some 3M/Scotch velcro to the flat surface on this suction mount, and also on the windshield-facing portion of my dashcam. It works great, and so far it seems to hold up under varying temperatures. My previous suction mounts have tended to fail in that regard (they fall off randomly). If this thing eventually wears out, I'll have no hesitation buying another.

I bought it to install my VIOFO A329 dash cam. So far it’s holding good and it’s so Easy to mount.

This seems to be well built and good for its intended use. However, I bought it on the recommendation of a Dash Cam retailer who couldn't provide a suction mount and it doesn't work well for that on a rear window. In all fairness I didn't mention I was going to use it in back. While the platform can be set to different angles on one plane it will not swivel so the curvature of the back window aims the camera off to the side and away from the direction I need it to face. My mistake and not the fault of the mount (or the retailer). I'll save it and perhaps use it facing forward one day.

I use it to hold a external GPS devise to the rear window of my race car. The velcro didn't work. The velcro connection was much stronger than the glue holding the velcro to the unit. No worries, I just used a thick rubber band instead.

Works perfectly

I bought this so that I could use my Viofo A119 with it while traveling. The suction cup cannot hold the weight of a simple dash cam for more than 5 minutes before falling. Outside return window so I'm stuck with it. Do not recommend purchasing for dash cam.
