Why does my sole plate stain brown and pass on to clothing being ironed

Are you filling it too full? I have found this iron very easy to use and light weight.

Sorry, no information regarding wattage on box or in manual. Item itself is wrapped in plastic and I do not wish to open as it's being sold as new.

Can I use this on a wedding dress?

Hi Christan, Thank you for your interest in this Black+Decker iron. We would suggest checking the cleaning or treatment instructions on the tag of the garment in question. If the dress is labeled as “dry clean only,” the iron should not be used. If the dress indicates it could be ironed, we would advise first spot-testing an inconspicuous portion of the fabric before continuing further. If you need further assistance, I’d be happy to help!
